X1950XTX beats the 8800GTS @ 2560x1600 4xAA - Page 2

someone is obviously an ATI fanboy lol. just kidden actually. That is weird though. I mean even if it is only one test it really sucks to spend 600+ dollars on a video card and the previous generation be able to beat it on anything.

Lol, ok so this is just my dreary prediction for the future. Regardless as to what may come, I'm sticking with AMD/ATI thru thick-n-thin. Call me a fanboy, call me what you will.

EDIT: I allready own one
Somehow I doubt the 10:1 figure . And I believe R600 is coming Q1 2007, not Q3...

Wait a week or two, and then see if the X1950XTX beats the 8800GTS still, once new drivers come out that fully support the G80.

I feel relieved the X1900XTX beats the 8800GTS =)

Let us be honest here. Who has a monitor capable of doing 2560*1600?

Who would run it at such a high resolution anyway!??!

It seems kind of crazy, their testing methods, because, let's face it, it's not a real-world scenario. Now, if you had a 25" LCD, you could justify 2560*1600, but I don't know anyone who has one yet.

I guess my point is that if they test in situations that aren't real-world, how can you expect to make a "real" comparison to another product? If I were to run FEAR on a good resolution, i.e. 1280*1024 or whatever my E207WFP's max widescreen rez is going to be, then you have a realistic scenario. But 2560 wide is just absolutley assinine.

(Couldn't help it)

Don't worry, everyone has their preferences.

I have a prefernce! I like image quality over sheer speed which nvidia has the upper hand on the speed. I think it's a good move on nvidia to come out with this 88 even though nothing can utilize the dx10 yet

Anything at all to back your prediction with? I dont know why people are putting so much trust in the R600.

what happened last time someone put so much trust in a new product that was coming out? (think about it, the result is never good )

this is a bit of a pointless test that they ran, due to the fact that the 8800 series is DX10 - and is designed to run well on DX10 whereas the ATi is a DX9 card and is designed to run well on DX9
