Help overclocking my I7 3820

I am new to overclocking but I built this rig for gaming and a friend of mine helped me to overclock it to 4.63GHZ. I updated my bios and lost my settings so my CPU is at stock settings. I need kind of a "guide for dummies". I saw another thread here:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1190452/3930k-p9x79-deluxe-overclocking-help and tried the settings he used in his screenshots, but when I tried them the bios allowed me to enter the values but when I saved them and restarted my computer, all my settings were reset to stock and 3.6GHZ. Now I do know that he is using a 3930k and that mine is not necessarily supposed to be overclockable, but as I said before a friend of mine got my rig to 4.63GHZ stable. Here is what I am working with:

I7 3820 sandy bridge-e processor, P9X79 ASUS Motherboard. Gskill Ripjawz Z 12 gigs DDR3 1600 Ram. OCZ ZT series fully modular 750 Watt psu.

I know that this may be a bit of a hard question but what do I need to do to get my old OC back? Feel free to explain this to me as if I were a 3 year old with nice colorful pictures and big print words. I need a step by step guide without too much fluff, and screenshots of exactly what my settings need to be. So if anyone has the same setup that I have and can post that information please help.
