Need help watercooling quad 7970

Here's my issue. I have a dual loop set up, one loop for 4 7970's and one loop for cpu. All my concern is about the 4 7970's. I have them hooked with with a d5 pump in serial on heatkiller blocks with a 480 blackice gtx rad, 1/2-3/4 tubing. I figured that pump should be enough for that loop. I cant seem to get the air out. Not small bubbles but when I tip the case back and forth and i get large air but it pretty much goes right back into the loop. When I first started filling the loop and bleeding it all the air was right at the out of the rad going back to the res. Im not sure if I dont have enough flow? or pressure? Parallel would fix my issue? I ran the pump overnight and it barely got any air out. ( btw koolance rp-452x2) if that helps. Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks in advance.

You have the wrong pump type for running serial for this type of loop. Your dual D5 is only 2psi more head pressure than one mcp35x. You should be using mcp35x's as in plural. Depending on your rads, it would take around three 35x to hit 1.6gpm with everything in series. Wait, you're only using one 480 rad??

I have the 480 going just for the 4 7970's with one d5 and then the other d5 on a 360. Is there anything I can do with what I have? Or should I get different pumps? Can 1 pump do it or do I defiantly need 2 pumps for the gpu loop? And serial or parallel?

I would never use a D5 for quad serial fullcover blocks. I also would be using much more than a 480 for quad duty. If you asked me, I would run it all in a single loop with the gpu's in a dual parallel setup with a mcp35x2 for pumpage.

Dual parallel? what is the referred too? and really? 480 black ice GTX push/pull wont do 4 7970s? I really wanted to stick with a dual loop. What about the 2 35x for gpus and 2 d5s for the cpu loop? And are you telling me that pretty much if you are doing any quad card setup you want to go parallel not serial?

Quad fullcover gpu blocks = serious restriction and the pump you got is way under powered. Quad 7970s can draw 300w at max overclocks, that's potentially 1200w to dissipate thru one 480?? If you're adamant about the D5, you would have to run quad parallel. If you run a better pump/s you could run dual parallel, ie. two sets of parallel blocks in series which would net you the best balance of flow vs restriction. It reads to me like you've created barriers for yourself and not let the gear/rig be the deciding factor in it's config?

I want to keep everything internal. Thats my main goal. I dont mind going and getting 35x pumps just want to be able to use my dual d5s in the same system thats all. If your recommendation is 2 35x for the gpu and doing a duel parallel set up than thats what i will do. I just hope the rad will be enough. based on hardware labs specs the 480 gtx should do it.

Maybe and you'd have to be near deaf to tolerate 3000rpm fans in push/pull roaring a mere foot or two from your ears.
