mouse settings

Hi,

I just got a Logitech G300, after using a bog standard mouse, and am a little confused as to all the extra settings.

Like polling. 125, 250, 500, 1000? (default 500)

And the windows setting for mouse speed, which directly affects the dpi setting feel. Where should I set this.

What about 'enhanced ponter precision' in windows? It really has a big effect.

How do you guys have your settings?

Polling is just the interval at which your mice communicates with the PC. Standard polling rate for any USB device is 125Hz(or 8ms), if your G300 has default 500Hz(2ms) then keep it at that. Actually most would agree with 500Hz as it's neither too much nor too less, and most modern CPUs can handle that kind of polling with ease. You can try 1000Hz(1ms) and see if you like it or not ingame, you might like it or might cause problems with your particular mice, doesn't hurt to experiment.

As for the Windows Sensitivty Slider, you ideally want it at the default 6/11th notch which provides 1:1 accuracy with the cursor and "Enhanced Pointer Precision" ticked off which is basically a Windows defined acceleration curve. The EPP should be turned off regardless of mice, as it hinders pointer precision.
