What size cut for bulkhead fittings?

I recently ordered some 1/4" 3/8" Bitspower bulkhead passthrough fittings from FrozenCPU.

What size hole should I cut in order to to make this fit perfectly?

Whatever you do, don't drill it larger than you absolutely need to are the fitting won't seal/tighten very well.

The best way is to bring a fitting to the store/your toolbox, and hold it in front of various drill bits. Choose the smallest one where you can still barely see some of the bit behind the fitting. (Or you can do it the other way around, bit in front of the fitting, choose the smallest one that covers the whole thing up.

Works for screws too. Or anything else.

$56.00 for that? no way.. that is way to f'ing high for a step drill bit..
a Irwin set is $58 sears.. i have snap-on, matco makita, dewalt tools and sir, that is just too
high for a single bit.

as for size, it'll depend on the fitting barrel outter diameter what size it'll take. as mentioned
before, you'll want a snug fit to keep rigidity and look..

not all fittings (bulkhead especially) are the same. i use a pair of digital calipers and measure the outer diameter and select
the appropriate drill to make it snug.

I used the BP's in my last build and it is 7/8. I double checked to make sure.
