Project red blood

Brief

Welcome to my first watercooling build thread. in this thread i will be documenting my introduction to the watercooling and computer modding world, through the means of my integral build.

I have set the targets of this project to building a computer which in my eyes looks aesthetically please but still retains a high level of performance.

For this build i have chosen the colour scheme of black, red and carbon as i feel together, these colours blend really well , and provide a nice contrast to each other.

case wise for this build im going to be building a custom case. i know its a bit ambitious for my first build but i have had a look at the cases around, and there either too expensive for what they are and/or have things i dont like about them. Further details are posted here

Hardware List and Status
i will be updating the list of hardware comprised for this build with different colours depending on what stage i am at.

Legend:
This is the legend of all my components.
  • Red: I have already received it.
  • Yellow: Item has been ordered.
  • Orange: I am still deciding/researching the item, or not sure if I should purchase it

Looking pretty good man, just started my log also, just waiting on my Mobo frown.gif

That mouse is freaking awesome looking.

Also, in regards to the keyboard, I might recommend the Rosewill Mechanical KB. It's got a pretty classic design but has a very nice looking red metal accent around the keys - cherry brown. Thing is heavy enough to brain someone with though...

i will make sure to check it out

its funny, i have recieved most reactions about the mouse rolleyes.gif

i have had a look at the keyboard and it does look a bit to plain, although i have heard a lot of good things about them so i will see what other options come up and decide then.

i have only just started looking at al the piece and i have already bumped into two problems:

1. since i opted not to use the 2012 serial gpu bridge and i used the 2011 instead ( the 2012 have the circle pattern on them) so the screw holes which connect to the gpu block (which is 2012) dont match up. i have sent ek an email to see if i can resolve this somehow

2. the i/O Shiel was missing in the motherboards box rolleyes.gif

so not a good start so far mad.gif

time to reveal my plans for the case:

i searched long and hard for a case which suited my needs, i found a few but they either were way to expensive for what they were or had little things about them which i didnt like (button placment etc...).
so i have had the bright idea of building a case from scratch, even though its my first ever pc build eh-smiley.gif

my plan is to build a rectangular prism which will have to levels, the bottom level to hold the psu, harddrive, disc drive etc.. and the second to hold the motherboard and possibly a second res too.

i have mocked up my idea's on sketchup to give you all an idea of what im thinking
