Recieving computers

Thread Starter
I have about 13 workstations coming in from a volt aerospace office
I believe there running core2 duo's and have about 2-3Gb ram and a 60Gb HD
Win xp
What program should I use to fold with and is there any way I can link (hub) these all together easily and be able to control them all with one monitor, keyboard, and mouse?

Also is there any Ethernet hub that I could connect all these to?

And just to make sure how much bandwidth will this take up on the network, I currently have (17MB/s down ) (1MB/s up)

If needed are there any wireless usb network adapters for CHEAP.

These would all be running 24/7/365 until they burn up.

Also

I have a small server that i built to run minecraft and some other games on,
It has a Xeon E3 quadcore at 3.2Ghz and 8Gb ram (the hard drive really dose not matter i think)
How useful would this be in folding? (I know every bit counts but compared to the workstations listed above how dose it compare?)

Till they catch fire and die.

Your power bill is going to be ridiculous lol. But a quick google search shows this thing:
http://www.networktechinc.com/srvsw-stu.html

It is going to be tough to find a cheap solution for putting all of them into one monitor/keyboard.

Ill just control them with something simple like teamviewer or the like, how much bandwidth would this take up on the network running 13 of them.

and about the power, we have 6 solar panels on the roof, the electricity company pays us

I have had some work units that are about 1mb to 15 mb big, and you might turn in about 2-3 work units a day per computer.

something like this would work well for your application for connection these computer up.

Turns out i was misinformed, i will not be receiving 13 computers...

its more like 23

so instead of rigging them all up ill just sell them and sell my current server to make a better one, (saving power and all) for you over-clockers to use!

Sounds good.
Get this one, and save some change for the electric bills (or get a second 4P to pwn)...
One C2D desktop tower is a welcome gift, 23x are a pretty darn good one.

Well for all the computers (running pent. 4 and 512MB ram and 40Gb scuzzy HD, and floppy drives (I always liked floppy's)) and window's xp, there going for $50 a pop on ebay, unless anyone thinks there worth more, all the money is going to a folding rig so if anyone wants to buy one or donate......

But in all I only have 5 of the computers so far and the HD's are locked up bad, i got one working but that was magic enough.

anyone know a office place around Ft.Worth that needs some cheep computers?
