[Build Log] Cooler Master HAF XB "Red Gamer mk2.5" WC project

Thread Starter
Changing this around, I'm selling my Storm Scout to my brother and picking up a HAF XB. I have it ordered and hoping I get it sometime later this week.

So here's my list:

What's inside:
Res: EK-MultiOption RES X2 - 100 Basic
Rad: Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper dual 120mm
Block: EK Supreme LTX Intel CPU Liquid Cooling Block - Acetal CSQ
Fans: Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance - Twin pack
Compression Fittings: Monsoon 3/8x1/2 Black Chrome - 6 fittings pack
Pump: Phobya DC12-260 12V
Tubing: Durelene - 15ft
Coolant: Koolance Liquid Coolant - Fluorescent UV Red

I will be using this thread to do my build log, moving everything from my Scout and installing everything into the new one.

Post Log:
Parts arrived!
Installation Pt 1
Installation Pt 2 (Take 1)
Installation Pt 3 (Take 2)
Testing
Completed w/ Pics!

Note: Sorry about some of the older posts if they don't make sense in this topic. I decided since I'll be using the same watercooling parts that I was planning on using anyways with my Scout, not to create a new topic and just reuse this one.

Tubing: just be prepared for that primoflex to cloud up in about a week. I don't see the inside of my case so I don't mind much. Doesn't seem to impact cooling performance.

FANS: I'm running GT AP-15's in my machine on a fan controller. at 1300-1600 RPM they are really quiet and at 1850 (max) they are still quiet but can be heard over ambient noise.

Res: Whatever makes sense in your loop. Bay res can be a pain to fill/drain w/o proper plumbing.

Pump: Love my MCP35x pumps. Have 2 in series running pwm at a little over 30% and I can't hear them.

Yeah, I heard the Primoflex stuff clouds up, but doesn't really bother me if it does. As long as it's red, it's fine and will fit my theming.

I'll probably pick up 2 of those GT fans if I decide to only do the one 120mm right now.

I'll figure something out when I do my lines on how I'm going to fill it. Still haven't figured out what res I'm going to do though. Could just get one that fits in the 5.25" slot, but I'd like to keep the front of my case clean looking.

Sorry for the 3rd post in a row, but I picked out everything I wanted. If anyone has any suggestions on what else to change, let me know. I have a while before I'm going to order the stuff, but I just need a run through from the experts to make sure I have everything properly selected.

The alphacool is a good radiator so I think you're fine there. I don't personally have any experience with monsoon fittings, but normally I'd suggest paying the extra for bitspower, but honestly I think you'll be fine. Are you sure you need no angled fittings?

Overall I have to comment though that for the price if you aren't planning to add a GPU block later a premade (aka corsair or antec) kit would be cheaper and offer better cooling (more rad space).

Well, that's the thing, I'd like to eventually WC my whole setup, including 2 - 670's. I already have 1 670 on the way, but I'm not probably going to be able to do a complete cooling system until a later date. Also with the Maximus V Formula, it has an already installed WC block for the VRMs.

I already have a H50, works well for the 4Ghz OC I had on my i5-760 although the CPU at one point did reach 70C on Prime95, but I have a feeling it won't stay cool enough overclocking the i7-3770K, and I don't really want to purchase another one.

And since Cooler Master still hasn't released the Eisberg series, a custom loop is really my only option right now.

As a matter of fact, I have. I know it's possible to watercool using this case and that thread is the inspiration of me doing this.

Your set up is good but I just like to add something. I would have to go with a thicker 140 mm radiator preferably an Hardware Labs SR1 140 mm low air flow optimized radiator on the front where the drive cage is located as well as a Hardware Labs SR1 120 mm radiator on the back. You can remove the drive cage & put your HDD at the bottom. I'm using (2) Alphacool DC-LT pumps to my drive bay reservoir & I won't recommend the product. The pump is not that powerful even if you're using (2). I don't recommend using a reservoir pump.

I'm using a CM Storm Scout case too. With a (1) GTX 680 SC video card my temp is OK. Not sure if the temp gonna be OK after I'll add another GTX 680 SC for SLI hopefully tomorrow. I already have plans to change my radiator using Hardware Lads SR series just in case if the temp will go up significantly.
