Stick with the i7 for hyperthreading... it works well for Pshop and will net you some bonus points if you decide to start folding. biggrin.gif
Is this the memory? I'm going to keep the i7.

I think I'm going for the P8Z77-V PRO it feels like a better motherboard. I keep reading about the gigabyte board and it needs a special bios just to run the samsung memory and the bios problems steers me away from it. I'm definitely going to get the samsung memory probably 8GB or 16GB based on funds available.

Just get the normal V

The pro has nothing special for its higher price tag

She Loved E beat me to it but I was going to recommend the Samsung memory too. Low profile, high OC and a ton of happy customers. I went with 8g and an i5 for my system. I just don't do enough photoshop and my flash work has declined lately so for gaming and streaming movies, I don't need the hyperthreading.

Love my Asus board (z68 but I imagine its very similar). Easy to OC and love the BIOS gui. Good choice. thumb.gif

Ya, I'm liking the Asus Z77 and I think its more future prof. because it has a thunderbolt header.

I bought the parts yesterday a P8Z77-V Pro/Thunderbolt, 3770k, and 8GB of Samsung ram. I think the bios is old 0301so how can I update the bios? I'm not home so can't test the parts out.
