Hi, im trying to build a cheap computer setup that isn't necessarily for hardcore games. maybe flight simulators.

I am looking at this psu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371029

Heres the graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125403

Heres the processor: http://204.14.213.185/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

Heres the mobo: http://204.14.213.185/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186206

so i just wanted to know if the 400w psu is powerful enough for this. Thank you.

For that build it should work, fairly low power GPU and the Phenom X4 125w would be fine, even under worst case scenario with that build, it wouldn't use a whole lot of power.

That PSU is rated for 400W continuous, with a single 30A rail for the +12, so it should be plenty, though as far as it's quality goes, I'm not 100% sure so I can't say.

Thank you very much. Yes, the quality is lacking but im just trying to see how cheap i can make a mild gaming build that won't be slow when a couple programs are open or while playing a flight simulator. haha i think 3.4ghz will do it xD. Thanks again, glad to hear 400w should be enough biggrin.gif

Keep in mind that, that did not count too much overclocking. I'd be gentle if you are worried about the quality. I've never personally owned an Antec PSU myself, so again, no clue.

As far as the build though, looks like it'd be good for that, and definitely not too power hungry at all.

Yeah ill def keep that in mind.

so i just finished the build online.

heres the case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147159

hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152244

and some cheap ddr3 1066 with very good reviews: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148147

Plus the other stuff i linked with also windows 7.

I think that looks decent enough for the build im looking to do. nothing fancy thumb.gif

You're fine, there's no OC restriction whatsoever (not that there's a point OC-ing that particular VGA, it's like adding insult to injury).

rofl yeah not intending on OC this build. its just for my co-worker. he wanted to see if i could put together something around 500 dollars that he can just use to browse the internet and play his flight sim or hd video.

400W is plenty of power, you'd be drawing under 250W fully loaded. That Antec PSU is based on a great quality Seasonic S12II design.

Well then, now I wouldn't have any issues buying one of these for my E5200 box when the time comes. Price on that PSU is awesome, didn't know it was Seasonic based.
