You will be highly dissapointed with a laptop. They last like 20 minutes without being plugged in, and they need to be plugged in to be in their fullest. When it overheats, remember i toldya so smile.gif! thumb.gif

As for your claim of him being "highly disappointed with a laptop", whether that is true or not will depends on the OP's situation which he had never stated.

The battery life on the GE600 will last approximately 3~3.5 hours during idle or web browsing and 1 hour under heavy load. If a person situation calls for a mobile machine that is capable of gaming, 3 hours isn't that bad for typical use and it will give him plenty of time until he finds a outlet; although there are more modern implementation of switchable graphics (Nvidia Optimus or AMD Enduros) that is capable of giving the system up to 4+ hours. Nonetheless, it is much better than your claim of 20 minutes.

While it is true that if you just merely going to plug it in and have it sit in one spot the majority of it lifespan, you probably should just get a desktop; however, who is to say the OP will keep it in one spot? A desktop will basically be immobile, whereas I could keep a laptop plugged in when I'm stationary to conserve battery but can move it anywhere and anytime I want quickly, easily, and still be able to use my computer. It also can function a UPS, in which will last longer than the a standalone for a desktop.

as of heat doesnt bother me as im going to even try to overclock.

I think If you can get the money look into the G73 if not its not a bad option. Just remember Its performance while good now may degrade quick.
