Wifi range extender/repeater help

Thread Starter
Hello, looking to buy a range extender for my house as my router is very far away from my laptop that i like to use in the family room. I was thinking about buying one of these two extenders below. Looking for advice on which you think would work better. Or, if you know of something else that would work better for $50 or under im open to suggestions. Thanks for your time.

This is what you want: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005D5M136/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

I've got two of them, one at the office and one at home. They just work. PC, Mac. They work. Every other I've tried has been sketchy at best, but this one worked well enough to order two.

Best of luck.

Its a less permanent solution but I found that either of these wifi-adapters were great at picking up weak signals.

Just depends if you are cost limited or not / if you want this fix for multiple wifi devices.

Rosewill RNX-N180UBE $20 - My dad uses this 2 stories up from the router

Rosewill RNX-N600UBE $30
- I use this and I went from unusable 1-2 Bars to a full 5 compared to my old wireless adapter
