I don't have the GTX 670 anymore. The GPU is overclocked a bit, and the stuttering did not change at stock or overclocked significantly - I've tried it all.

What are your offsets? Do you have your voltages and your power % maxed out? I think the issue is because you don't have a stable OC be it a slight one.

There's something to be said about knowing your cards capability, I know mine and can quickly figure out where the issues are coming from.

you let go of the 670 sozo.gif why?

This has nothing to do with overclocking. I hope someone has an idea what could be causing this stuttering.

Did you set the power management to "Maximum performance" in the NVDIA control panel?

You need to list the games it's happening on. Also, does it happen with all browsers? Try disabling Chrome's GPU accelaration by typing about:flags on the browser bar.

Also note that atleast on my 660ti, when viewing HD youtube videos the GPU usage goes over 60%. So you can imagine what happens if you try to run a demanding game at the same time. Haven't tested the other cards you mentioned so I can't comment on that.

Ok, what game(s) are you playing what settings, etc? Are you watching your vids in full screen in HD format? That'll help us help you troubleshoot. Also you can't run integrated graphics and discrete graphics at the same time either one or the other.

Unless he's using the Lucid Virtu MVP thing... in which case that should be uninstalled and may be causing the choppiness. thinking.gif
post #1038 of 3662
+1 to losing the Virtu... thumb.gif
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Indeed, uninstalling Virtu has helped. I was doubtful it was a cause for the stuttering, because I've been using it for months now with various GPUs on multiple systems, and this is the first time it's had such an effect. Performance is smoother now.

This I have a question about. There are lots of options involving GPU acceleration in various forms. Which of these would I disable more precisely? For example:

"Override software rendering list Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS
Overrides the built-in software rendering list and enables GPU-acceleration on unsupported system configurations."

"GPU compositing on all pages Mac, Windows, Linux
Uses GPU accelerated compositing on all pages, not just those that include GPU-accelerated layers."

"Disable accelerated 2D canvas Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS
Disables the use of the GPU to perform 2d canvas rendering and instead uses software rendering."

And more options like that. Thanks again!

Anyone in here tried the Crysis 3 beta yet? I got it downloading but might not have time to try it till hopefully tomorrow sometime. I'm wondering what kind of performance we will get with our cards
