[Official] NVIDIA GTX 660TI Owners club - Page 110

Hey guys, i'm looking to join the club smile.gif

Right now i'm trying to decide between the gigabyte and galaxy 3gb 660ti's. Looking for suggestions.

I know, 3gb? why? Because i would like 2 or 3 way sli them down the road and 3gb is much more suiting for that situation. Plus who knows what the future holds for vram usage.

got it wrong man.
you only need 2GB cards and if wanting 3-way SLi then spend for GTX 670's and not the 660 Ti's.
you have been warned and will thank me later for the advice..

the 192-bit interface will choke beyond standard SLi (2 cards), and anything more than 1080p and you also should get the GTX 670.
nVidia made a mistake with the lower interface though it's fine for a single card.

well

considering the benchmarks 3 way 660ti's outperforms a 690 and 2 way seems to beat out a 680, that seems rather inaccurate.

source

or this review where the 670 2 way barely beats the 660ti 2 way

source2

now this was just what i found in about 15 minutes. if you know of tests showing otherwise i'd be glad to see them.

3-way SLi with 660 Ti's is a waste of money...
didn't say it couldn't beat a GTX 690 or GTX 680 but thanks for the links.. wink.gif
edit: I'm not wanting a GTX 690 anyways..

and I still say that your better off with GTX 670's if going 3-way SLi.
what.?

next we can discuss your CPU upgrade you'll need.. rolleyes.gif

lets get back to your misniformation rolleyes.gif.

i asked for a source. you still haven't provided one. I'm going to believe the numbers that show i'm right over your hersay.

Also, i'm buying a single gtx660ti now so i can put money towards haswell.. If i bought a 670 now that would set my haswell upgrade back. But instead of asking you just assumed.

please stop trolling so i can get an answer on the only damned question i asked.

but malmental is absolutely right. if you look at the architecture of 660ti you would realize it.

so this chart had the best scaling in 3 way i could find that you linked. looking at 22.5% increase in fps with 3 670's over 3 660ti's. now lets factor price into that. 3 670's would be 1200$ and 3 660ti's would be 900$. thats a 33% increase in price for a 22.5% increase in performance.

2 way sli performance was a 27% increase with the 670's over 660ti's. So that is getting closer. Still not a justifiable upgrade based on cost though. Single card performance was back at 22% as well.

you didn't answer my actual question, so technically you still are trolling. wink.gif
