yes, you want to keep temps below 70c or you are not at max clock and will lower clock 13mhz once hit 70c .

Do you have single fan cooler or a double like this
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/graphics/display/asus-evga-gigabyte-inno3d-galaxy-msi-palit-zotac-geforce-gtx-660-ti_3.html#sect0

All dual fan coolers should have no problem keeping under 70c , even with higher voltage .

What I meant with voltage value you used in bios is . I was understanding if you use a 1.212v instead of 1.180 it goes straight to 1.212 once in 3d no matter clock. Where if you use 1.180 it steps up from there to max of 1.212 at boost clocks .

I would of used 1.180 first ,especially if cooler/heat issues are not great . KGB recommends 1.180 in his bios editor to start out .

i use default voltage that KGB has set. But i have limited my boost clock to the stable maximum so she boosts in 3d and rocks up to 1.212v under load.
I have played again, it will hit 70 only in the heaviest scenes in crysis 3. When tdp goes up to 130%. I can dissasemble her again to see if artick mx4 has spread decently. I have a dual fan gigabyte cooler. The windforce x2. Everyone sayes it"s one of the best aftermarket coolers for a 660ti.

EDIT: i allready wrote but she runs heaven benchmark maxed out in 1920x1200 at 60C. Crysis 3 is the new furmark.

just did some benchmarks. Was wondering if it's a good score.

GPU1 (gigabyte) @ 1032mhz / 1110mhz (boost)
GPU2 (PNY) @ 914mhz / 1018mhz 1000Mhz (boost)
Both GPU memory OC to 1530Mhz.

Running Driver 311.06 w/ Windows 8 64-bit

If you get low temps with a high fan profile, and you still throttle, try to reduce your fan curve to 80% MAX (a straight line from 20-80%). I don't know why, but for some reason, on my MSI TF 660 (non ti), the lower the fan speed, the less the card trottles tongue.gif. Even if the card's get hot in SLI, they don't throttle as much as they do on a high fan profile.

I got this with lower fan profile: 20-80% 80c Limit Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

And this with a high fan profile: 20-100% 80c Limit Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

No tweaking what so ever, i ran them multiple times.

Yes, but that is not throttling as your clock is the same . My card lowers voltage from 1.175>1.162 at 51c or higher but here kicker the max clock is only from 60c-70c .
I don't think you be able to keep it below or at low 50's and I don't seem to see any issue with GPU % , its about same from what I see (it will go down cause voltage went down .

The main thing to look at is to make sure your clock is straight line across graph and your GPU usage should be very high 98-99% .
I just tested in valley first run with my own fan profile, temps go to around 60c

score in valley was 3145 and 75.2 fps

With fan set to 75% and tamps around 50c in valley on second run I got

score =3154 and 75.4 fps . the difference could very well be second run variance .

ran another test with my profile again and score was 3150 and 75.3 fps

So seems fine here , do you see lower scores with other app ?

This is a 3GB MSI 660 ti TF OC I bought about a month ago. From what I've read the 660 ti's three 64 bit memory controllers run "symmetric" with 3GB though I can't get it stable at any higher memory speed than an OC of +766. The clock OC is +86. Don't have an SLI mobo at this moment but a new mobo/cpu upgrade is about to unfold once haswell shows its true colors; someday after that two to of these beasts may find a home in my case. I've yet to upload a voltage modded bios; for now I get all I need with the OC shown below. It beats the pants off the two year old MSI 560 ti 1GB which it replaced. Thanks for viewing.

Can someone tell me what is the best way to find out if my clocks are stable. If i run heaven benchmark maxed out it"s stable for an hour and then it crashes with a message "device removed" because drivers crash when clocks are to hii. I tried lowering the mem clock 3 times by 50mhz and he is crashing at pretty much the same point.
Do you have another program good for mem stability testing? Furmark is pointless because of the tdp limiter.

Use games, don't use heaven benchmark, use the games you play. I run stable on heaven bench for as long as possible at 1293Mhz (core) 3354Mhz (memory), but in bf3, i crash after sometime, so i run at 1280Mhz on bf3.

Other games differ too, i run at 1293Mhz on sleeping dogs, but on crysis 3, i have to run at 1254Mhz (for some reason) redface.gif

If you getting driver device error, its propably the core clock thats too high.

If its memory, you will notice alot of artifacts before crash. Thats my experience.

Here is my current setting with my gigabyte 660ti! My ambient is pretty bad atm and i should really install some more powerful case fans for better airflow, cuz my temps are not too good tongue.gif Also had to go down to +500 from +600 on the memory to get BF3 running stable after the latest nvidia driver.

Anyone is reporting low performance in Unigine Heaven 4.0 with last drivers (314.21)?

MIN FPS drops from 17 FPS (last stable drivers) to 9 FPS (last beta drivers)
