I thought that with Cata that all was done away with because of the Directx 11 integration?
not all done away with, but mostly. More utilization on the graphics to take away the necessity for a banging processor. Ease the load out kind of thing.

I'm not sure about the recent changes--I'm just basing this on my prior experience and the fact that I don't notice almost any fps difference in raids. Only with out-of-date/bad addons. There's some effect from the increased number of things to render, but I still feel it's mostly up to the disk/memory/processor.

Gotcha, boss. thumb.gif

Also, if you all aren't already, help out the OCN Folding @ Home team and fold for the Chimp Challenge! Our cards are beasts and GPU folding helps out a great deal for the cure! I got both of mine folding currently biggrin.gif

This is from Nvidia's website:

"NVIDIA SLI® Technology3
Used by the most demanding gamers worldwide, SLI lets you link up to three GeForce GTX 660Tis together for astounding performance. And with NVIDIA’s track record for fast and frequent software updates, you’ll not only get the best performance in existing games, but future games too."

So it looks like you can only use 3 in SLI.

only 4-way SLi are the GTX 670's and up.

Ah yes, something interesting I forgot to mention about SLI setups!
It's possible to know how well it scales in some games. Just go to nvidia CP > 3D Settings (tab above) > Show SLI visual Indicators

http://www.geforce.com/optimize/guides/introduction-to-sli-technology-guide#5

In Crysis 1, I get a full bar most of the times on maxed settings. If I drop the settings the bar almost becomes a line, proving that indeed SLI setups scale better on higher resolutions and settings!

I have yet to test how it is effective to measure CPU bottenecks though... wink.gif

Just got my msi power edition in today. I'm excited to get things up and running. Expect it to be significantly better than the 7850...
