Just bought a GTX 660 Ti ... don't know how to work it to benefit myself other than play some sweet games. I have a dual monitor setup though so that's nice..

Any suggestions? What do people normally do with sweet video cards?

I don't mean to sound like an ass, but if you don't know what to do with it, why did you buy it? rolleyes.gif

not sure what to do.

I was just pricing out 670's for around $400....did you mean used cards?

... when graphics cards are $200 for a decent one and it gets 5 star reviews, why not? I would assume a beginner builder would not know what a lot of the pieces in their rig does anyways. Thats why I asked rolleyes.gif

Games primarily if you system is for recreation. The only other thing a GPU of that class could do is some basic CAD programs. Serious graphic design afaik requires a different type of GPU dubbed professional. Of course movies, streaming video and stuff like that should work fine as well.

I am the proud owner of 2x EVGA's 3661's in SLI.

Yesterday I actually did my first little overclock on them.

Settings w/ Precision X:
Power Target: 110%
GPU Clock Offset: +45
MEM Clock Offset: +160
Voltage: 1012 mV
Fan Speed: 80%

I know it's not good to do this but yes they were synced up, so the clock offsets were the same on both. redface.gif
I don't have the exact Clock speeds because I didn't record them with GPU-z & it wasn't for a real benchmark per say
next time though wink.gif

I did a Windows Experience Index before hand and after just as a start to see if there was any improvement.
Before, my Graphics scores were at 7.7's
After, my Graphics scores are now at 7.9 biggrin.gif

Whenever I game, I throw my fans on full force just to keep the GPU's cool. My highest temp I think is 60°C and that was at like 45% fan speed because I forgot to increase before I started gaming.

I haven't done any real gaming while OC'ed so I hover around 50°C when gaming and the fans are at 80% thumb.gif

OK - some really weird thing happened to my 660ti Power Edition OC

Till now I was able to use either MSI AB Beta or MSI AB 2.2.3 to raise voltages. I was using beta version cause it was a newer one. Recently I've changed Nvidia drivers from 314.22 to 320.18. Everything still worked fine. After that I decided to switch back to MSI AB 2.2.3 to do some testing. Suddenly my voltage control is gone - I can put +100Mv or +0Mv - no difference in temperatures or power%.

i tried to revert back to Beta version - no luck. Tried to revert to 314.22 drivers - no luck again. My voltage control is gone.

Now what the hell happened? Did 320.18 installed something to lock this control? How is it even possible?

What is interesting - before I had tresholds of 10 - +10mv, +20mv, +30mv and so on.

Now they are +13mv +26mv +37mv and so on........ anyone got any ideas?
