but for case and CPU cooling fans I always look for better aftermarket replacements.
ones that move more air and are quieter so by carefully searching through the fan specs you can find nice ones.
I personally also have a fan controller but even without you'll notice the difference in noise.

just some ideas for you to think about.

No doubt, I've been considering it for a while, it's not the case fans though, I can't tell whether it's my cooler or my GPU but something goes really loud when playing stressful games. I need to figure that out and fix it.
open up your side panel when gaming and see if you can tell what's going on..

I believe that my cooler fans randomly speed up despite my CPU sitting at 40 degrees, so I think that's alright. My GPU fan does get a bit loud but I think the cooler was the problem. My bottom GPU sits very nicely at 65 degrees under full load and doesn't even break it, my top one though is at 74-75 degrees, it doesn't go higher but I'm wondering if this is alright for a little while until I get some fans?

On a side not, has anybody played Tomb Raider on PC? the game is just stunning, I've heard about some issues upon release but it runs so well with SLI, no stuttering at all and I know this isn't fair but console gamers brag about Uncharted (unbiased I have a PS3 and the first two games) but this just blows it out of the water with ease... I just now hope they fix the stuttering in Metro LL, I'm happy that it's just the game and not my system.

Any thoughts regarding your old ATI?

Well I just got AC3 and Tomb Raider... time to see how they run. I'm also glad Crysis 3 maxed out at 1.7GB vram at the most stressful point in the game, thought I had ran out already and next gen is around the corner.

I think most of the "you will need more than 2GB for next gen games" to be this evolution of the sky is falling. It all really comes down to reso and Crysis 3 was labeled as one of those type of games. This was clearly not the case. 1920 x 1080 single monitor is fine on 2GB assuming you don't want extra stuff like ENB most likely will be for a while. At least nothing has indicated the need for more so far.

You're right, Crysis 3 at higher res needs more than 2GB but at 1080p it won't, I think I'll be fine for a while, it seems like the Titan will be the top card for another year (assuming AMD don't make one better) and I currently have the same performance as one. Time for some more Tomb Raider (damn activation code for AC3 didn't work).

I have yet to decide on what to get next...BioShock Infinite or Tomb Raider. I never played a TR or BioShock game in my life though.

Grabbing the 770 GTX in a few days....kind of sad about the lack of a titan cooler.

I have been looking at these cards for a while as an upgrade to my current GTX560, and am wondering if its worth going for a 3gb version over the standard 2gb? It's only a $20 difference between the MSI Power Ed 2gb and the eVGA SC 3gb. I only game on a single screen at 1080p so I'm not sure of any real advantages. Also how would a 660Ti hold up against a 7950 3gb? I can get them both for about the same price right now.

I had to comment on this one, I've got Tomb Raider on both my PS3 and PC, had to buy it again on PC and I've got Bioshock Infinite on my XBOX 360... Tomb Raider is an awesome game, I was really impressed with the gameplay and the cinematics, the story though was a little cliche but you can forgive it for that. Bioshock Infinite though is really one of the best games I've played (not the best) but really good. Don't worry about not playing a previous one, I haven't played Tomb Raider since one that was on the original XBOX and I've got the first Bioshock on PC and XBOX 360 but I didn't really enjoy it much (probably because I played it later). You've got one tough choice here, since we're on PC though, graphically, Tomb Raider is far ahead... if that matters. Have to get Bioshock Infinite on PC though, the low res textures on console are just shocking, bookcases look like they were imported from Kingdom Hearts on PS2.
