An awesome card wont perform well with poor components.
Your PC is as strong as your weakest component. I can post Q9650 vs 2500K benchies for you, made them myself.

If you should pick a GTX660ti (Referance PCB) and was going to watercool it + overclock - What to pick ?

Zotac GeForce GTX 660 Ti AMP! Edition 2GB - 305 Euro
EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti SC - 275 Euro

Both seems pretty nice, and really dont care about the Zotac cooling, since its going under fullcover - Any else ?...

I have just signed up with my 660ti Twin Frozr Power Edition. I have been very happy with the card so far, but I'm beginning to run into issues. After about 30 minutes or so of using my rig, my applications become unresponsive. I am not able to close anything or open anything. Shortly after the icons on my desktop disappear altogether and I get a grey screen. Sometimes is gives me a BSOD with the code 0x000000F4. The only changes made to my rig recently are the removal of my 560ti sli setup and putting in my new card. I did a clean install on my new drivers and added a gtx 460 for physx. I can't pin down exactly what is the culprit yet, but I am hoping it's a driver issue. I have removed the 460 and I'm gonna do another clean install of the latest drivers and report back. Does anyone have any insight as to what this might be ? I have reverted my gpu back to stock clocks and I'm about to loop heaven to see if I can re-create the problem.

Has anyone with a Asus DC20 flashed the BIOS to the TOP version?
I recently found a Rog Page claiming a 3-8% performance increase and can verify as I flashed my card I received on Friday, today, and saw a slight increase.
http://rog.asus.com/158612012/graphics-cards-2/asus-geforce-gtx-660-ti-bios-drop-inbound-for-performance/
Just wondering if anyone with the lower two cards from Asus has flashed the TOP bios successfully?
Would this also be a reason the bios was updated as many seem to have some performance issues across the 660 Ti cards?

My card won't run at the TOP frequencies without crashing in 3D Vantage. I haven't messed with voltages yet but figured the TOP bios probably bumps the voltage a tad.

OK, well in case anyone else has an Asus 660 Ti card, specifically the GTX660 TI-DC2-2GD5 or GTX660 TI-DC2O-2GD5
I was able to flash using the Asus TOP bios from here http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/GTX660_TIDC2T2GD5/

My card is the DC20 and seemed to work just fine so far.
Ran some benched of Vantage and 3DMark11 and saw noticeable improvement

Before Flashing
P7249 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4591716
P18867 http://www.3dmark.com/3dmv/4332590

After Flashing
P7487 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4596914
P19520 http://www.3dmark.com/3dmv/4333776

Didn't run any others so I don't have any other info but read a thread on [H] that a guy with the DC2 card flashed the TOP bios and was running fine and he was able to OC higher than before.

ASUS DirectCU II OC vs EVGA FTW Signature2

Noise:
ASUS card could run fans at 75% before I could hear it over my other fans (which are all whisper quiet)
EVGA card could only run fans to 53% before I could hear it over my other fans.

...and from there it was all EVGA wins. thumb.gif

Temps:
ASUS idles at 34°C with fans set to 65%. The card topped out at 68°C in Furmark with fans at 85% (which was just as loud as the EVGA FTW card).
EVGA FTW idles at 30°C with fans set to 50%. The card topped out at 61°C in Furmark with fans at 65% (so even though the EVGA cooling solution isn't as quiet at the same RPMs, it actually cools better so don't need to spin up as fast as the ASUS card)

Overclocking:
ASUS card would not overclock past the factory clock at all. Not memory or core clock. The second I started any 3D app it would BSOD on me.
EVGA FTW card easily clocked to +75mHz core and +500mHz memory right off the bat. Gave me a peak clock of 1304mHz core (with boost) and 3506mHz memory. I haven’t tried yet to see if it will go higher.

Heaven benchmarks (stock straight from the box):
ASUS DirectCU II:

EVGA FTW Signature2:

EVGA FTW Signature2 (overclocked to +75 core and +500 memory):

Other things I like about the EVGA:

No stupid green LEDs messing with my color scheme.
Overall system temps a couple degrees cooler.
Shorter card fits in my HTPC.

Maybe I just got a bum card with the ASUS, but regardless I'm very happy I sent the ASUS back for the EVGA FTW card. wink.gif

I am back on the latest drivers and a clean install fixed whatever the problem was. Thanks. I'm gonna post some benchies later, the user I bought the card from says it's 1325mhz capable. I haven't pushed it yet, so I'm very curious to see. thumb.gif

I just ordered my MSI GTX 660 TI OC card and ran into the report from TH. Should I be worry or is the card fine. MSI did respond to the report and card still has a 3 year warranty.
