ASUS DirectCU II OC vs EVGA FTW Signature2Noise
ASUS card could run fans at 75% before I could hear it over my other fans (which are all whisper quiet)
EVGA card could only run fans to 53% before I could hear it over my other fans.
...and from there it was all EVGA wins. Temps
ASUS idles at 34°C with fans set to 65%. The card topped out at 68°C in Furmark with fans at 85% (which was just as loud as the EVGA FTW card).
EVGA FTW idles at 30°C with fans set to 50%. The card topped out at 61°C in Furmark with fans at 65% (so even though the EVGA cooling solution isn't as quiet at the same RPMs, it actually cools better so don't need to spin up as fast as the ASUS card)Overclocking
ASUS card would not overclock past the factory clock at all. Not memory or core clock. The second I started any 3D app it would BSOD on me.
EVGA FTW card easily clocked to +75mHz core and +500mHz memory right off the bat. Gave me a peak clock of 1304mHz core (with boost) and 3506mHz memory. I haven’t tried yet to see if it will go higher.Heaven benchmarks (stock straight from the box):

EVGA FTW Signature2 (overclocked to +75 core and +500 memory):
Other things I like about the EVGA:
No stupid green LEDs messing with my color scheme.
Overall system temps a couple degrees cooler.
Shorter card fits in my HTPC.
Maybe I just got a bum card with the ASUS, but regardless I'm very happy I sent the ASUS back for the EVGA FTW card. Edited by below20hz - 10/8/12 at 8:18pm
