Pushed the mem voltage and aux to max to see if that helped at all. Mad a little improvement. Core +90 Mem +746 Max boost 1279mhz and memory is running at a blistering 7500mhz effective

hello all. back to ordering things for my first rig. haard to find time anymore. kids, work, woman, whores etc. i need a recommendation on going with MSI or EVGA for my 660ti. haven't used either company before but both seem good. i guess which card has better temps? blows air outside the case? reliability customer service. i am leaning towards msi, but i hear evga's service and quality is better.. i dunno

thanks for the tips.

going in:
corsair 650d case
i7
850w corsair psu
asus z77 v pro thunderbolt

Depends on which version you're picking for EVGA. I'd recommend the 3GB SuperClocked, just for the extra memory... buuuuut that might be just me, since 2GB is enough for 1080p gaming. However, it might be a problem for games that uses high-textures.

MSI is considered the Top Brand.

edit: Actually, Power Edition OC and TwinFrozr are the same thing... it's just how the cooler is named (TwinFrorz)

I ran a Heaven benchmark to see if I could get the numbers you were getting and I even went higher and I still can't get the score that you are getting.
I did +110 core and +800 memory (with the memory and aux voltage to max)

Is my CPU bottlenecking my 660Ti???

Did you check Afterburner to see if your card is actually running at +112 core and +800mem? I set mine higher in AB and actually got a lower score in Heaven than previous because the card was throttling itself, preventing it from reaching the clocks I set. I had to switch to EVGA Precision X and set voltage and Power Target to max so that the card wouldn't throttle itself.

my score would actually go down if I went much further with either core or mem clocks. Also what are your control panel settings? Do you have power management set to maximum performance? Either way we are right around Stock GTX 680 performance.

Oh ok...maybe that's what was happening. I didn't check AB to see if it was actually running at +110core and +800memory. How do I check it since I run Heaven on fullscreen? Do I just go back to the graphs after I run Heaven? I really like Precision X but I doub't i'll be able to OC that high since I can't increase the memory and aux voltages on it.

Yeah I have power management set to maximum performance....I'm still happy with my card though biggrin.gif
