Before it would crash very much compared to 3.0 even at 1267mhz, so i figured that i needed to unlock my voltage to get it stable.1
. Download kepler bios editor with unlocked preset here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d6dimgnx8cxvlca/kgb_0.6.1.zip2
bios .rom from GPU-z
and put rom file in same folder as the extracted zip above.
: Before extracting your bios, please have fresh install of your nvidia driver or make sure ALL Settings\profiles in nv control panel are at default + ALL OC SETTINGS AT STOCK.
)REMEMBER TO KEEP BACKUP OF ORIGINAL .ROM FILE3
. In the folder with editor and .rom file, make a txt document where you write without quotes "kgb.exe GK104.rom unlock" and save the txt document as a .BAT file.4
. Run the bat, bios file gets modified. (eventually
edit the kgb.cfg first for manual settings, experienced users only, not recommended
. Then download NVflash for windows
, put the modified GK104.rom in same folder as nvflash.6
. Then open a new txt document where you write without quotes "nvflash.exe GK104.rom" and save as .BAT file. (in same folder as nvflash.exe and the modified .rom file)7
. Run the BAT and follow instructions in nvflash command line (basicly you just press "Y")
If the bios is write protected, try "Nvflash --protectoff" first.8
. Restart Computer.Voila! You will have unlocked power limit to 150% now and unlocked voltage control. Remember your card will boost much, much higher than before now so keep those afterburner settings at stock and start from there. Also watch your temperatures closely and make sure all cooling is optimal.(I take no responsibility for anything you may encounter. I followed the steps above and it worked for me. Should you encounter major problems, then boot up with Integrated graphics and flash back to default bios.)
Good Luck & Have fun Overclocking!
