Oh and is the Core Voltage Slider on MSI AB useless like mine? Anywhere from -100 to +100 the Vcore doesn't change...odd.
I always had that problem too.

Use Afterburner version 2.2.3, it's the only version that sets volt. Newer version also makes the OC unstable here at 1350MHz+
post #3153 of 3662
Yeah AB 2.2.3 is the one to use with MSI 660IT people on the MSI site in the GPU thread say the same thing.

And indeed i got an better overclock when i set the voltage to 1.150 in the bios because otherwise the card begins to throttle

But still the card throttles i don't like that Nvidia boost stuff because you never know how much volts you are using or what you boost clock is when benching.

When i run 3Dmark11 it crashes a lot and most of the time it says that my card runs at 1.120 MHz on the core but the memory is correct.

But when i run Firestrike i get crash a lot less and they say its an more demanding benchmark than 3Dmark11

Whats the clocks? And how much does the core throttle?

About max on std-cooler:
it is definitely the voltage that let the card throttle.

I tried the same overclock with the voltage slither maxed out and the benchmark freezes immediately, when i set the voltage to +50 there were no issues and not even a flicker in the benchmark.

When i set the power limit to 200% at a max boost clock of 1358 and memory 1850 the card starts to throttle down, so i set it to 300 and no more throttling.

I did notice that when you oc the memory of the card the scores jump more than when you set the clock higher that has to do with the low bandwidth of the card i guess.

I tried to get a max boost clock of 1371 and a little higher memory speed so i can break the 7k score but with no luck so far because the driver crashes abrupt without a glitch at the second graphic test.

Do the power limit hard mod, much more fun biggrin.gif

At 7.7k graphic score now!

6995 sooo close lol tongue.gif

drool.gif that's an fantastic score man!

I would like to do the hardware mod but i am scared of ruining my GPU, Isn't there another way of getting more power?

No it's hardware limited.
The mod is very easy, and its a easy place to solder smile.gif

Ye it looks easy enough but its too risky for me to maybe frying the card tongue.gif

If i had enough money to buy another one i would do it but for now i guess not.
