you got a link with that info? Nvidea said all fermi/kepler gpus were compatible with dx12.

Of course they will 'work'. But they won't be able to take advantage of dx12 benefits.

It’s day two of GDC in San Francisco and, as promised, Microsoft has announced the newest version of its DirectX gaming API. A sponsored GDC session dubbed "DirectX: Evolving Microsoft's Graphics Platform" was revealed earlier this month and Microsoft showed off DirectX 12 this morning alongside partners including Nvidia and AMD.

With DirectX 12 comes a new version of the Direct3D API. Microsoft promises it’s faster and more efficient than ever and is calling this ‘the API [we’ve] been waiting for.’ With support for PCs, laptops, Windows Phone devices, and Microsoft’s own Xbox One console (of course), Direct3D 12 boasts a lower level of hardware abstraction for improved multithread scaling and CPU utilization. There’s also reduced GPU overhead and a set of new rendering pipeline features that improve algorithm efficiency. Microsoft offered verification of performance improvements via 3DMark. That showed a 50 percent improvement in CPU utilization as well as improved distribution of work among threads.

Nvidia says it will support the DX12 API on all the DX11-class GPUs shipped so far, including those belonging to the Fermi, Kepler and Maxwell architectural families. Though DX12 will compete with AMD’s own Mantle API, AMD was at Microsoft’s session and Raja Kadouri did confirm DirectX 12 support for AMD’s GCN hardware.

Sorry, wrong link.

http://www.extremetech.com/computing/190581-nvidias-ace-in-the-hole-against-amd-maxwell-is-the-first-gpu-with-full-directx-12-support

My OP should have included the word "fully":

So I see that DX12 will not be "fully" compatible with 600 series nvidea cards. What will 'you' be doing with your 660ti??

I apologize for misleading anyone.

try and edit your last post whenever possible. The mods will frown on you posting multiple posts in sequence.

Thanks for the info.

All the drama around nv dx12 performance and we dont even have a real game yet. I would not sell any gpus until we see some gaming benchmarks.

Personally, I am not upgrading to win 10 for at least two years or longer. So dx12 performance does not apply.

Hoping someone can help me out here. I have a 3GB Galaxy 660ti card that I always cooled using Xtreme Tuner Plus (Manually set fan speed to 80%). However with Windows 10, Xtreme Tuner Plus is extremely buggy and the features do not work (Can no longer manually set fan speed like I need to). Is there any other way I can manually set the fan speed on this GPU? It hangs and crashes on the auto setting which is at about 40% fan speed due to high temps.

Have you tried Evga precision x or MSI afterburner? I use afterburner on all 3 of my systems.

I have nvidia gtx 660 ti (reference)

default gpu = 915
default boost = 980
default memory 6GHz (1500mhz in gpu-z)

i did the volt mod and changed the kgb config to
Fan_Min = 30
Fan_Max = 100
Max_Power_Target = 150
Max_Boost_Freq = 1228
Voltage = 1175000

in nvidia inspector i change core to +156 and this makes my core clocks in gpu-z sensor = 1240

im pretty close to running stable (only bf4 causes me some probs but i think i can lower that +156 a lil and take care of that.

i pass 3dmark 11 Performance and Xtreme presets
i pass 3mark Firestrike and Icestorm (Demo mode so Performance only)
i pass 3dmark vantage (performance only)

when running gpu-z sesnors my volts its staying at 1.2v even when the voltage was set in the bios to 1.175v

what volts am i really running at?
i read some people could do 1350 on their core.

i still using stock cooling but keep fan locked at 80% and temps look good so i think i could go higher on my core if i could raise the 1.175 volts in the bios to 1.185v but am worried i could fry my card if gpu-z reports the volts going to 1.21 for core

need to know if gpu-z is reporting wrong volts.
note i checked with nvidia inspector and msi afterburner and they also report im at 1.2v when bios = 1.175v

anyhow could use a little help if anyone cares too.
thanks

1.21v is fine for that card. I ran my 660ti sli at that voltage for 3 years and the person who bought them still runs them there at 1306mhz boost clock.
