Hey guys, I'm gonna likely be picking up a pair of these in the next few days. I'm going for the MSI PE model. I'm a huge TF fanboy. It's gonna be paired with my 2500k clocked to 4.8 and I'm gonna be running a single 1200p screen. Does anyone have a similar setup ? Should I be concerned at all about the 192bit bus ? I wouldn't think it would be a problem at my resolution. I don't plan on upgrading my monitor any time soon and I'll be keeping these cards for a while. I'll be posting up pics later for a proper entry into your club. If anyone has a pair of these guys and a similar cpu I'd be forever grateful if you can tell me about your experience so far and maybe post a heaven/3dmark11 run ? Any benchies you have and or personal experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !! thumb.gif

it's fine, just overclock that memory with offset of 630-650ish and you'll have GTX 480 bandwidth just fine.

hmm, the games that actually eats up over 2048 MB is a bit few, but Skyrim is the exception. If you want modded textures, you need 3 GB at 1440p, nevermind the added AA. But AA is useless over 2xAA at that resolution, you can't tell 2xAA from 8xAA except crap frame rates.

Not a big fan of Skyrim anyway and I'm too lazy to mod it. I'm trying to be prepped for Crysis 3. I know it's all speculation at this point but I need to be able to play it at a 40 fps minimum if at all possible. The games I play currently aren't all that taxing tbh, but I will be getting Crysis 3 and the new Metro the day they release.

ah, another thing about OCing...

these cards actually overclock a bit farther than what the Boost clock tells you in GPU-z. You run MSI Afterburner, and the cards runs somewhere in the neighborhood of +30 to +100 over Boost clock rates, so yea it's like an extra Boost to Boost... it's weird.

like for me it's Boost clocks of 1119, it runs at 1215. But hey, free performance! But also explains why you can't just shove the Core clock up like you could in Fermi and previous gen cards.

I always run furmark without the post processing to let the card run at full speed. Then you can determine its "real boost clock" and work with that.

I'm wondering if the non-OC cards are lower binned or why they don't clock as well. Because technically its all the same, just a different bios.

Also, if you get two cards I doubt you'll experience any bandwidth or memory restrictions.

I've been playing Witcher 2 for the last 3 weeks and my system started crashing unexpectedly yesterday so I need to start assessing the problem. mad.gif This game seems to really put my cards to the test and cant get seem to get my FPS above 40 in ultra and temps average around 68C too. My cards run BF3 in Ultra without breaking a sweat so I'm finding it strange why I'm getting such poor performance with this game, which is also an Nvidia game. doh.gif

as for the heat, you could make a custom fan profile, assuming you haven't already... What drivers are you using?

So I scored a Asus GTX660ti DCII for a insane price, I am wondering what are the best drivers available right now?
Picking the card up tomorrow tongue.gif

Thanx in advance guys.biggrin.gif:thumb:
