Picked IDE in UEFI bios and now computer won't boot (update - fixed)

I removed cmos battery and jumper and nothing is helping on the new asRock z77e-itx mobo. Computer now goes on but won't let me go into bios after repeatedly pressing del. I was installing win 7 for first time on an mSata Crucial SSD and after I elected to remove the system reserve partition and began to install Win asked for device drivers, I thought if I reset the AHCI to IDE that would help but instead I got into this problem.

I also removed the mSata SSD and disconnected the optical drive and still no boot.

Take out the SSD, reseat the RAM, make sure that you're using a PS2 keyboard (and basic USB mouse too) and hit F2 during POST.

With my mobo (AsRock P67 Pro3) hitting DEL during POST doesn't work always, F2 works.

You SHOULD use AHCI with SSD's, Win7 is asking for device drivers probably for RAID, but not for single drive config... *** happened ?
Wait a minute, the mSATA connector is 3Gb/s (SATA II), but controlled by the Z77 chipset (native Intel solution), so you shouldn't have to use any special driver for it.

BTW, a nice little mobo you have there, it's a shame that doesn't working.

Thanks, I got around to taking out the GPU and it booted. I also notice that the DVI cable was plugged into the mobo and not the GPU. I guess when I changed that setting in the bios the video signal was lost or went to the pci-e slot - not sure. Anyway a happy ending.

So what could be causing Win 7 Home 64bit asking for device drivers before install?

It seemed it wanted the chipset drivers and the mobo disk was not accepted by the install.

So much for using Win 7 Home with SP1.

Went back to Win 7 Pro and it's working.
