I currently have an old netbook that I use in university to take notes but It's becoming quite slow. Right now I have the Asus 1002HA however I was looking to see if I could find anything better in the 300-400$ price range. The catch is that I have an old 750GB laptop hard drive lying around as well as 2x4GB sticks of DDR3 laptop ram (from a macbook pro). I was hoping that even though I'll only be spending 300-400 dollars, I could get my money's worth by using my spare parts to put the computer up there with some of it's more expensive competitors. What do you guys recommend? This computer will be only used for browsing the web and running word processors. Sometimes I like to push the limits of my netbook by trying to play certain games but that shouldn't be the focus.

Ok, I can make my budget closer to 500$. Once at that price point, what would be the best netbook/ultrabook that I can get?
