What happens when you run the windows test sounds in 5.1, do you get the correct sound from the correct speakers? Sometimes the center and sub channels need to be reversed.

EDIT: That card looks like a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty, should be able to find some up-to-date drtivers & management app here for that

Creative is worthless for their drivers. The last update on those things is from 2008.

OP, install the PAX Drivers for the card and also do this in the creative console -

Go to mixer and mute Microphone (if you odn't need it along with Microphone FP if you have it), along with change Rec to "What You Hear"

You can pickup the PAX drivers over at Hardware Haven

I'm using the official vista CD from 2007 on both 7 and win 8. I seriously don't understand the creative driver issue. Maybe elite pro is exempted ;o

PS: Daniel K drivers actually HAD issues with my card (broken interface). /Sadface

Thread Starter
Something is not getting along with the creative sound drivers on my computer. I know this because I just had Ubuntu installed and that picked up the soundcard better than my Windows 7 side does. Ubuntu's sound quality crapped all over Windows 7 sound quality... mad.gif Something isn't right and I wish I were smart enough to find out what it is.
