Looking for new TV for my room. Help?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new TV for my room and am focused on a specific set, and was wondering if anyone could offer some alternatives I could check out at the local TV place. I'm set on a Panasonic U50 50" Plasma (1080P, 600Hz, yada yada), but I wanted to see if anyone could offer me some insight on why to choose some alternatives or why not to get this panel in general. Also, if there are any similar displays with a better feature set, around the same price of $700! Thanks thumb.gif

If you're going to buy a monitor this year, why not wait for OLED TV's by LG, Samsung or Sony (in that order) by the end of this year? Much better quality and sharper images.

Or wait for the 4K TV's (Samsung, LG, Sony in that order).

Well, I don't think I will be able to afford an OLED or 4K set that is 40" or greater, so that's why I'm looking to buy now.

If youre not heart set on plasma, My Dad has this set and he loves it, I love it as well just dont have the funds currently or Id Buy it.

I saw a similar set on display, and I don't know what it is but Vizio LCD's just don't look that great imo. How is the 3D on that set?

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Shrek 3D. I was trying to watch an action movie but my brothers kids won that battle. I would also read the reviews on amazon.
