I just installed 12.8 today to see if any differences were worth noting. I would previously using a 12.6 Beta MOD driver that seemed to be working best for me until now. I primarily play BF3 and haven't tested on anything else yet, previously if felt like I had slight micro stutter and that the game should be smoother even though I was getting 80-200 FPS. After installing the 12.8 driver I felt the that the game play was smoother, I have two drives with 12.6 and one now with 12.8 on it and booted back between the two just so I could see if it wasn't just my mind tricking me and it doesn't appear so. The other thing that was a good improvement was I could overclock higher, previously I couldn't run BF3 stable @ 1200 core and it now runs at 1220 with no issues if I want to increase the voltage.
The only thing that really suffered was 3dmark scores, I pulled a 16,702 @ 1200/1635 2600k@5.1 2133@9-11-11-28 on mod drivers and only pulled a 16,205 @ 5.2 with RAM running @ 2200 9-11-11-28 with these @ 1235/1705. I haven't checked clock for clock FPS differences between the two, although even if I'm getting lower FPS the game play smoothness is definitely worth the trade off.
Running heaven now @ 1200/1705 --- Heaven doesn't appear to be effected at all, I ran Heaven before I left at the same core and a little less on the memory and the scores are roughly the same.
