I want to play Battlefield 3 smoothly, this new Armored Kill expansion looks maD.Fun

I currently have a e8400 dual core with 2x5770 in crossfire. BF3 hates a dual core

I eventually want to get a fractal designs node 304 m-itx case with a 3570k on asrock z77 m-itx board with thermaltake AIO water cooler and GTX 670,

I can't afford to get a new gpu and new mobo/cpu/ram all at once... What should I do first for smooth BF3 goodness?

I'd wait a little longer and get a board that can do SLi, if you have to upgrade now, go for the 3570K for now an upgrade your GPU later.

seriously man. the 3570k with an asrock board and a 5770 should be great anyway. a GTX 670 would get bottle-necked like crazy. anyway you can save up for a new 670 after you have a new CPU and mobo thumb.gif

The E8400 is such a horribly outdated processor. Upgrade your CPU first, you'll be able to feel that upgrade in more than just games, too smile.gif

  • I don't understand the point of brand favoritism.
Drop down to a 7950 since you cannot afford it all. It might even be better to go with an AMD CPU (Price wise). Otherwise, save until you are ready to get it all because you are being severely bottlenecked in both situations. The 5770 really does not do BF3 justice. it is not a very good GPU, I owned one over a year ago and it was terrible, I could barely play Saints Row 3 on medium settings.
