If that doesn't work, we will see.

Felt like I was going to either snap the ram in half or snap the board in half when I was trying to put my samsung ram in...unbelievably firm pressure to get the memory in...

Board is stable sofar with folding. I'm back to folding again and testing out my CPU overclock right now. Folding at 4.1GHz @ 1.192Vcore....Running like a champ sofar!

this exactly whats happening.

when power on..

cpu fan struggles to turn on for like 2-5 seconds and reboots and reboots..

of course there are no video and no POST.

first i thought it was the PSU so.... i changed with working PSU and same thing..

i've tried different ram ( corsair XMS ddr3 4GB 1 stick 1333mhz) and same thing

i've put my 9600GTS discrete card and same thing..

so after i read ur reply, i took the ram out and force the ram in the slot and tried and same thing...

i've tried with 1 stick and 2 sticks...

i am thinking that it might be DOA board or something..

ima got o microcenter today and buy me another set of CPU and MB and ask them if i can try it there... (frys let me do it cuz i returned 2 DOA MB's last year)

i told them im not walking out until i see it works.

i dont wanna drive back and forth and buy return all over again...

i will keep u guys posted...

NOTE TO SELF " try and verify and install windows and see everything works before mounting to the CASE!! it's fricken DRAG when u build them complete and try to fire it up and it doesnt work"

LOL

That is the smart thing to do, always build it outside, test test test, then build inside the case biggrin.gif

Sorry you are having trouble, no one on here has had a DOA mobo yet. You sure the ram make a click noise when plugged in? It has to make an audible click when the ram holding finger things click into place. thinking.gif

I'm looking to start a build using this mobo in a bitfenix prodigy. I currently have a Hyper 212 Plus from a previous build. I know that this is on the list of "supported" CPU coolers, however, it appears that I would only be able to orient it on the board with the fan blowing towards either the GPU or side of the case(otherwise it would block pci slot). I had a couple questions:

How badly would this affect airflow in my case?

If this is a bad idea which I'm leaning towards it is with my basic knowledge of airflow, what cooler would be suggested for optimal OC capabilities without going full blown custom water cooling?

I would say stick with the 212, it wont be that obstructed, and you dont need custom water cooling. You can do a closed loop watercooler and it is easy,I have a thermaltake, but I would suggest corsair because I know they would replace your components if it would leak, I cannot guarantee the same for thermaltake. Also my watercooler is slightly on the loud side, not all too loud, like fan spinning at 45% loud (~1200rpm loud)

See, it doesn't take up much space, I bet I could fit my case inside of a prodigy anyway tongue.gif

I wont be able to get any more internet pics after christmas when I get a gtx670 eh-smiley.gif

have it in "pull" away from GPU

DOA MB

what a luck... good thing I didn't buy it online. I woulda had bs return and exchange. good thing I bought it from microcenter. when I went there I told them I am gonnna walk out system ready and working. they were nice enough to let let me use the tech room. first tjing I did was to swap the MB and worked right away. I exchanged the MB and I am good to go. ima load windows tomorrow. thank ypu guys for the help. as for bitfenix prodigy.. I love the case.. its pretty big but it can do soo much.. like an ATX case.

Air flow aside i believe the back plate will need modifying as:
