Both of mine that died had the single clip.. Which one do you have? I wonder if they made a revision, it would have to include more than just a pcie clip.

Who all has one clip?

I don't know if it's related but intel h4000 worked rather poorly on the 'one clip' mobo, as if the dvi connection was loose.

I bought the one clip one perhaps two months ago and it came with an earlier bios than my 'two clip' board. Can you elaborate on how they 'died'?

If asrock found a flaw that makes these die prematurely, shame on them for not telling us!

This is the best pic I can get on the 'one balled' version without taking my system apart.

They refused to POST.

I was emailing them when my first board was in rma about things like status updates and shipping etc, and after I got the board back I asked about why they removed a bios version from their website, and all the sudden the decided to quit responding to me. hmm

I don't know if there is a bad version, I was just stating both the boards I had used 1 clip on the pcie slot. Just wondering if there are different revisions of this board, and who had the ones with 2 clips.

They might as well ship a version with no pcie clips, they do absolutely nothing to help secure the card (on this itx board) except cause confusion. If I have to ponder a guess, they 'might' have just changed the pcie-clips because on the one clip board I found it very hard to actually get my gtx680 out, it gets snagged quite easily.

That is true, I have to install/remove graphics cards in a much different way than I am used to.

When I get around to rma'ing this second board I will try to force asrock to tell me what keeps dying because that will determine if I give it a THIRD chance and return my current board.

I don't know, my current board doesnt have offset voltage which makes me not want to overclock which is kind of a waste of money paying so much for a z77 board.

The AS5 curing could account for better temps, or some other variable. Though with all else unchanged, 11 degrees seems a significant amount. No other changes were made? Same loading process (P95, IBT, whatever)?

I think I have either a cooling issue, or that perhaps combined with a cpu that doesn't like anything above 4.2 without bumping voltage at least .1v which seems much. I very much envy those that can do 4.5ghz at 1.25v and under.....that seems to be the limit of my cooling setup. I will say it's quiet for the most part though, with a case fan maxing at 1700rpm and a cpu fan topping at 1200rpm.

I'm running an axp-140 with 140x15mm prolimatech usv 14 fan in an SG05 case. Max load temps in Prime large FFT were 75-79-74-73*C, though it was hovering around 71-72-68-69*C once it settled down. Perhaps I was unrealistic about my Axp-140 expectations, given I'm forced to run it with a slim fan pulling. I'm sure I'd see better with a 140x25mm in push.

I assume most people referring to load temps are talking about what it's sitting at after x amount of time, rather than the maximum it's registering?

Also, for anyone that can answer, is it common of all boards with 4-pin headers to spin a fan faster than it's spec'd? For instance, it takes my 800-1500rpm case fan and tops it over 1700rpm and my 500-1000rpm cpu fan to just under 1200rpm. Both are obviously PWM and hooked to the respective 4-pin headers.

Hi,

Using a Bitfenix Prodigy case with a corsair h60 cooler. Running at 4.5ghz with 1.24v and it runs perfectly. Load temps are maximum 75 degrees now and that's with both cpu fan and chassis fan set to level 1 so very quiet.
