Check the OP, I was told that the thread needed cleaned up and have actual information pertinent towards helping people out before I could get it official.

I am still working on it, but its starting to look good, tell me if I have done anything wrong, and maybe suggest things to add to it. biggrin.gif

Not really slower IMO, i've tried USB dongles and they matches the speed of mPCIe cards. Perhaps even faster as I got no idea how to get my card to work on 300mbps mode with my access point as its stuck on 150mbps while my USB dongle connects at 300mbps.

One free mPCIe slot can be adapted to a normal PCIe slot via PE4L or PE4H (diy vidock) for a sound card or for builds that need external graphics for ultra smallness. I'm planning to do an external graphics when i buy my third Z77E board for another build.

The thing is though, 99% of users are not going to need more than 150mbps connections on their computer. Be sure to post pics and info on here if you do the external graphics in the future.

If you have an ASRock Z77E ITX now and you want to be added, post a picture, or make a sig rig so I can add you.

when i said slower, i wasn't referring to the WIFI speeds, i was refering to the device itself, usb uses more resources than mpcie, making your system slower, boot up will be slower, it will connect slower, i'm not saying that it is noticeable, but it is there.

in the end of the day it is really up to the user which one he prefers.

Thanks for adding me to the club. Great idea for creating this thread, this board deserves it. I have a few suggestions for what you can add to the thread.

One very valuable bit of information would be people's max stable overclock results. I noticed with mine that it couldn't quite OC as good or needed more volts than my Z77 Extreme4, which I'm guessing is due to the smaller space for components and less beefy VRM. I know some of it has to do with the limits of the CPU but with the same CPU there was a difference so I'd be interested to see if that was the case for others as well.

Second, have some requirements for how to join the club. Like a screen shot with a CPU-Z verification and a picture of the board, something along those lines.

Also if users made a build log that included this board, you could have a part for those links. For example here is my build log:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1260571/mini-itx-gaming-monster-build-with-lian-li-pc-q08-case-lots-of-pics

Great work so far, keep it up and welcome to OCN.thumb.gif

Thanks for all the advice I was actually thinking of a overclocking spreadsheet with temps, volts, speed and processor. And I will add a column to the owners list and make everyone who does not submit a cpu-z verification link with their username in it "Not Verified"

I guess you could start off and post a validation link, you dont really need to run prime or anything because I have not started on the overclocking spreadsheet yet. And when I do an overclocking sheet should I just require that the peoples temps be from 10mins of prime95? Because I have not done more than 3 hours of stress testing because I am pretty lazy with the whole waiting out the stress test.

p.s. Is there any way to get a moderator to add me a reserved post under the first one? I didnt reserve one because I forgot. I know they can modify and delete posts, but can they add me a blank post? Because I would love to have a second post dedicated to just overclocking and such.

I didnt add anyone who didnt have the board in their sig rig, because I really dont think someone is going to be lying about owning hardware on here and be posting in this thread. But as I said, I will just put unverified next to the names of the people who do not verify that they have the board.

That's true, what people consider stable is different from person to person. I'd say at least an hour of stability testing with the program of their choice (Prime95, OCCT, IBT, and so on) as long as it's an actual stability test program and not a game. Then if the person wants to have more time that will show all the more that' their OC is stable. Honestly it kind of a tough call. I've never started a club myself so I'm just going by what I've seen in other other clubs.

On second thought, I think a CPU-Z validation link would suffice for becoming a member of the club, as not everybody has a camera. Then as people have done already, if they want to show off their rig with a picture they can do so as well. Here is my validation link for owning the board (now in my HTPC with a Celeron G540 and HD7750):

Thats the thing, like I can do hours of prime95 and never break 61c on the package on HWmonitor, each core is less than that, more like 55c max core. Then throw on IBT and it will be 72c. IBT is by far the most heat producing stress tester I have used. I know my system is stable, I have made sure my CPU and Ram overclocking is stable, I might run a test overnight just to see my temps and make sure its 100% but I know a lot of people, the majority who will not stress test for more than an hour or less because it pretty much renders your computer useless while the programs are running.

If people want to add OC and temp results I will be glad to add them to a spreadsheet, but it does not matter. CPU-Z is the furthest I will go on validation to join the club also.

And, I dont know if you missed it, but can a moderator add me a post under the first post so I can dedicate it to overclocking, I know its obviously too late for me to add it, but I know moderators can edit threads and such.
