biggrin.gif Keep us updated, yeah, you should never have a problem with a cpu failing, especially ivy bridge, its tough.
Was it new in box? Because in store warranties dont matter on that stuff anyway, you get the warranty from intel, shops like tricking people into that.

I'm playing w/fan settings now. i guarantee you this is a dumb question, but can the mobo control speed on 3-pin fans, or only 4-pin/PWM fans. I think I know the answer already...

3 pin is voltage speed control, 4 pin is pwm. If you run a pwm fan on a voltage controlled header, it might buzz or squeal, mine did.

The cpu header is pwm, and the chassis fan header is voltage controlled I think, or the other way around.

Well both headers are 4-pin. The manual doesn't say if 3-pin control is possible on either header.

Right now i'm hooked up like so

CPU header: 3x Gentle Typhoon AP-15s via splitter
CHA header: 1x MCP35X pump (PWM)

Right now I have no control over fan speed. but if what you're saying is correct I can switch them and I'll get fan control?

Speak up I can barely hear you over my computer. wink.gif

I run my 4 pin cpu fan on my sys fan header, so I assume that is CHA, so idk. You might need to get a fan to molex connector, and then get fan down volting adapters.

Switch and try first, might work the other way around. Use speedfan, because axtu isnt all that great.

No it won't. I accidentally put 1.75 volts through a 2600K once on a crappy Asus board with offset only and it's still just fine. Was just starting out and did not know raising the multi also raised the voltage too.
