Korean 2560x1440 advice - Page 2

18.5 inches - Catleap.
Note: From polls at OCN I remember Catleap/Crossovers have slightly low malfunction rate. Crossover has the good stand, height adjustable, but costs more.

Is the led-p any higher or lower than the standard on it's lowest setting? Also has anyone dealt with UK customs, what charges can I expect? Finally, does anyone have any recommendations on sellers?
At the risk of jinxing things - I'm in the UK, it was sent to me via Fedex, and I've not seen any customs charges at all... Seller was accessorieswhole, can't fault them - I had an eBay message very quickly with the tracking number, which let me follow its progress.

Monitor's box arrived swathed in bubble wrap and festooned with 'Fragile' stickers, on opening it'd quite obviously been checked by them as there was a personally addressed note covering off things like which way around the power cord goes in, along with a small gift of three stretchy scarf type things. No complaints here at all.

Yeah, I've heard that accessorieswhole is good, definitely on my potential sellers list. Thanks for the heads up ieya. thumb.gif

bigclothcraft's eBay page for the Crossover lists my graphics card, Radeon HD5850, as not supported. What does this mean? I'm pretty sure this card supports DVI-Dual Link and 2560x1440, so where's the problem?
[speculation] Might be that not all 5850s were built with a dual-link DVI port, and so it's easier for them to list it as not supported?

Do you know the exact model you have? If so, check its specs (possibly manufacturer's website) - as long as it has at least one port that supports dual-link DVI, you should be golden.

I've noticed that Accesorieswhole has put some Crossovers on Amazon UK, LED, LED-P and LED-P Perfect Pixel.

Do you think it would be better to buy from Amazon rather than eBay or is the risk the same? Is it easier/cheaper to return with Amazon?

Also, do you think it's worth paying for the perfect pixel option? Perfect pixel LED-P costs £322 whereas standard LED-P costs £258. I really don't think a simple dead pixel check should cost £64.

Would think as it's an Amazon seller rather than Amazon itself you're buying from, any returns would still need to be back to the seller.

Perfect pixel - it really is a personal choice, for me I took the gamble, got an "ordinary" one, and it's perfect as far as I can see anyway; in the context of 3.6 million pixels, I figured I could live with a possible couple of misbehaving ones for the price.

If dead pixels would really irritate you and it's worth an extra £60ish to guarantee none then go for it... else save some pennies smile.gif

Get a Crossover from the seller Dream-Sum off eBay. i have bought 3 27Q's from him now and everyone has been perfect. i can find one dead pixel on the outside edge on 2 of them and cant find any stuck or dead on the 3rd one. The seller dream-sum takes them out of the box and checks them an extra time before shipment. Many of the other sellers just take the word of the manufacture(Crossover, Yamakasi, Achievea) that it is a A- screen and still works good and ship it without making sure the one they sent you is legit....

accessorieswhole also opens the box and checks. And gives you free novelty scarf things!

(Okay, I wouldn't attach too much added value to the scarves, though it's a nice touch; I think you're probably fairly safe with any of the sellers that have tons of feedback and positive reports here).
