Colored Keycaps + Custom Keycaps

Thread Starter
Hey guys!

1. What is the point of those colored keycaps for mechanical keyboards? The extra/optional ones that are a solid color. I mean, I can see WASD well enough without it being neon green.

2. Can the custom keycaps from http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/printed-keycap.html be installed into a Ducky Shine? I have concerns that the backlight won't work as well.

Thanks in advance! thumb.gif

1. The point is for accent/flare for epeen. Seriously though if someone who was not a gamer saw your WASD keys in red on a black keyboard they would probably think you quite odd. -_-

2. I don't know about fitting, but the back light would probably not work at all, considering that in the case of the original keys they are transparent where the letters are so you would only get a glimmer of light from around the base of each modified key.

1. Some people like the contrasting colours.

2. They should do as they use coloured keycaps, however as the top of the WASD keys are completely opaque, you may only see backlighting underneath the keys.

1. Coloured so that it pleases your aesthetic sense, makes your keyboard stand out, and the swag factor, etc
2. They fit but the backlight does not show like the original keycaps on Ducky Shine. the whole keycap would light up (unevenly) but sometimes the effect can be good:

^ the keycaps are dyed from white PBT from KBC

Would most likely fit, and depending on what color you get and the color of your LEDs. For example, If you have white LEDs, any of the colored ones and white ones should theoretically show through, but if you have other LED color / Keycap color combinations, it might not show.
