ASROCK X79 EXTREME 11 WATER BLOCK [official discussion page]

Thread Starter
Ok so after hours of searching and having no luck, is there any water block out there that will fit the Extreme 11? Now there are blocks out there that will fit most X79 MB's but due to the
fact Extreme 11 heat sink needs to cover the PLX, PLX, South bridge and LSI chips standard blocks will not do! biggrin.gif

Is there any solutions out there? ( that fan is just so damn loud!) wha-smiley.png

I emailed MIPS a couple of days ago and asked if they were to make a block for the Extreme 11 - this was the reply -

hello owen,
many thanks for your request.
we will get this board the next days, but it will be very tricky to make a
block for it because of
too many components between the sb, sli and plx chips.

Hopefully that means they are working on it...

True that! Looks at the PCB. It will take a hell of a designer and engineer to optimize every detail.

The biggest problem I can see with this is where the heck will the inlet and outlet be? That said, I still want to see it happen. Still, what about the VRM's at the top? Can't forget those.

You can see nateman's current design in my build log (see sig). Probably will be right below the USB 3.0 headers for one, and around the battery for the other. And yes...he's doing a VRM block also. PM me if you want on the interested list.
