It did, but it wasn't because of speed. The guy that won had two weather widgets already on his home screen, the WP user that lost, didn't.
It was bound to happen as the whole thing was either too vague that someone would find "loopholes" or too definitive that it would give WP the clear advantage.
The whole fiasco didn't prove either phone was faster than one another. The general consensus is that WP is more intuitive than Android, but less flexible. Intuition is a major design paradigm in GUI.

The consensus among who? WP fans? Having widgets on the HS is still part of that intuitive design. WP isn't as good as Android. Simple as that.

Huh? On a Windows phone, your entire start screen could be filled with weather apps if you wanted it to. In WP8, that could mean 24+ apps reporting weather to your start screen, without having to open them up.

I'm of the ilk more competition is always better, and having owned WP, iOS, and Android, Android and WP rate high up there, with WP8 hopefully getting it closer in terms of features and hardware to Android. iOS is for those who just want something that works, and doesn't really understand technology (this is a generalized statement, doesn't mean it applies to everyone of course). Personally, I cannot wait for WP8 and the Lumia 920 to be released.
