According to my batch number I'm good, it's so strange I'm not sure what to make of it, oh well as long as my pc doesn't explode it's all good I guess! smile.gif

Temps seem high. are the fans making good flow through the rad? also is the header the pump is hooked to set in the bios to run at full speed? my temps are around yours an im on air. cpu is a xeon W3520 (i7 920) @4.4ghz.

I've recently delved into overclocking my 930 and have a few questions.
Currently, my idle temps @ 3.6ghz [1.2v] are around 40-43c with a H100 cooler. My ambient temps are around 25c, load temps around 75c.
I've used to have a H50 with about the same results. I've reseated my H100 and reapplied the thermal paste many times and I do believe it is seated correctly with the right amount of paste spread. Originally I had to RMA my H100 as the fans where stuck on full boar at %100, which was quite noisy. This one seems much better but the fans never ever seem to ramp up even at 75c.
My machine is stable and never crashes even after many hours of prime95, it's just that it seems to run super hot.
Could it be that I just have a chip that likes heat? Or do you think my mounting on the H100 could still be better?
Cheers,
Ben

Seems kinda high. I recently got an H100 and my i7 970 at 4Ghz using 1.23v, Idle temp ~37C and Load temp ~47C this is while playing BF3. While benchmarking didn't see it go past 50C. Forgot to mention pump is at max settings and I have push/pull config smile.gif

yup good airflow through the rad, pump is running at 2163 RPM.. Is that normal?

Here is what my HWM is telling me @ 2% CPU usage:

You definitely have something wrong with the cooling. Before I went custom WC I ran my 920 @ 3.7 with a silver arrow and I got better temps then you what you have. That was with a similar ambient and 1300rpm fans.

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion it must be my chip, altho I've had the chip for over 2 years so I'm not sure I can RMA it, it would seem odd that I get the same temps on both the H50 and 2 H100's I've tried, unless I'm seriously messing up the mounting process which I don't think I am as the spread looks great when I remove the heatsink frown.gif

Is there anyway to fix the chip rofl.

I seriously doubt that there is anything wrong with your chip. If there was it would not stay stabile with those volts. Its the cooler or the way you have the cooler mounted.

Any advice in how I should mount the H100, it seems to be making good contact, you know the funny thing is, if I disconnect the fans on the radiator, the temps stay the same, only checked in BIOS not under load tho wasn't game to lol... The bios reports the pump is running, not sure what to make of it, could it be a bad mount of the heatsink?

if the pump isn't running you're cpu will near instantly over heat.
