G9x vs DA

Thread Starter
Hello im wondering if its worth it to buy a Deathadder or if i should stick with g9x. Should i stick it out with the g9x even though the sensor has acceleration or should i just get a DA? Also I have tried a abyssus but the left and right buttons were too stiff; is this aparent for the Deathadder as well because that would shut down that option for me. It would be great to get an opinion from a person who has tried both abyssus and DA.

I can already guess people will recommend the DA. I lean towards the logitech side but I don't use either brands so I'll leave it to someone else.

The Deathadder 3.5G switches are much lighter than the Abyssus.

I have no complaints about the performance of my Deathadder, I just don't feel the build quality is worth what I paid.

ID is much different.

The actual switch may or may not be lighter. Depends on batch. They're part of the same branding code though ^^

I own both the G9x and DA BE. I prefer, and use the G9x for gaming and general use over the DA. The G9x just feels better in my hand, and seems to give me better control/precision while gaming.. mainly BF3. I also like the fact you can change the weights around with the G9x to suite your needs.

For me, G9x FTW.

I have not tried the Abyssus, so cannot give my opinion it it.

What's your sensitivity in game?

G9x and Deathadder use the same switches, so the click should be about the same.
Now it comes to this : Do you prefer tracking quality or features? What ergonomics do you prefer?

The G9x have acceleration. It's not really that bad, but it's here. If you play CS, quake, or any FPS, really, it will make you miss a few shots. Of course, you may or may not care about those.
If you dont play any shooters or play using a high sensivity you wont be bothered by the acceleration.

TBH I just got a G500 because my college was selling them for 40$ today. Coming from a DA and a G400, I notice that the tracking feels different, even when just moving the cursor around on my desktop. I will continue to use the G400 or the DA when it comes to shooters, but I might switch to the g500 for everything else ( i love the scroll wheel )
But again, if you dont play FPS it wont make any differences. I mean, I'm still able to click my icons, and my skills in SC2 did not suddenly drop.

I've tried both and feel that DA's click feels mushier. I guess physical construction of the mouse button (the mouse casing) also affects the click a lot.

Can't comment on the DA, but can on the g9x. I'm a huge Logitech fan, but the g9x doesn't work for me. For one, I have rather large hands and the g9x, even with the add on clip it felt small at the store. I ended up purchasing the G700, which is much better than the g9x. It's also a model higher. It's perfect for gaming and pixel perfect design.

Thanks for the replys may try to get my hands on a DA! Also TBH i'd prefer no accel but the buttons on abyssus are just a little stiff.
