Get the E6600, even better value and given the right stepping could overclock very well with minimal voltage

yea I might...for the sale of my complete system at a great price, I can move into a thermaltake mozart case with the e6600 on an awesome board, get a new video card (like the 8800)..that would solve a lot of my issues.

yea..I think I am going to that......I mean, I would get rid of this stuff cheap too, including my money wasting NEC 23" screen with tv tuner, that I NEVER USE.

The E6700 and X6800 are only good on TECs and Phase. Get the E6600 or under if you have any other sort of cooling.

I'm not sure why you state that. The 6600 and 6700 are the same CPU just the multiplier is different. Method of cooling is not going to have a noticable difference between the two.

I would say that the 6600 is a good deal as the difference between a x9 and x10 multi isn't worth $300.....I got a great deal on my 6700 (less than 6600 retail price) so I didn't see why not.

My 6700 is performing quite nicely on air at the moment, and it's not even really good air. 3Ghz @1.15v 44c load with a 22c ambient. I expect to hit 3.5Ghz before this terirble heatsink stops me from temps and stil have pleanty of room in voltage to go higher with better air, or in my case, custom water.

May I ask where you got the deal?

Go hiba! get a 680i board and overclock the hell out of that E6600, or maybe get a e6400 and see how high you can get the fsb up to on that chipset.
