GPU-Z shows actual memory frequency. AB/PrecX are still calibrated as if you had DDR3 vram, which is double-pumped (2 bits per clock cycle). So +600 in AB will appear as +300 in GPU-Z. In reality, because you have quad-pumped DDR5, +300 in GPU-Z or +600 in AB is really +1200 in terms of your true Effective Memory Clock, which in this case would be 7200MHz (6000MHz + 1200MHz)

Also, a 670 is very close to the same performance as 560ti in SLI. You shouldn't be expecting much more.

Wow, really? Almost 3,000 posts and you don't understand the difference between Actual Memory Frequency and Effective Memory Frequency?

Really?

Only Card you are almost sure to get 1300mhz out of..... With out bios hacks or voltage hacks is a Galaxy SoC Hall of fame 680.
And if 1300mhz is not enough.... Thru Galaxy software u can adjust the Memory Voltage on the card..
You Can Also Flash the Msi Lightings LN2 Bios on it and unlock voltage...

Ive had 3 of them.. 1 Boosted stock to 1280mhz and the other 2 Boosted stock to 1320mhz

I think I will stick with getting a second 670 in the near future. A 670 is almost equal to 560 ti in sli? well, that means I will be getting a second one in the very near future!

I mean there is the HD 7970. *Sees this is NVidia section* biggrin.gif

But yea, I would just go with another 670, at some point, you have to ask yourself if you really need to overclock to 1300MHz. Are you THAT starved for power? I believe you are suffering from "new graphics card syndrome", usually when I get new GPUs, all I want to do is push them to the limit and bench them. After that I just go back to stock clocks.

Also, so I don't sound like a fanboy, I sold the 7970s in my sig and got a 6970 because I don't play games.

EDIT: I see you have a 630w PSU, that could be why you aren't hitting 1.3GHz. Could be unstable or unclean power to the GPU at that point.

Yeah t hat is exactly what I am suffering from but unlike you I never put them back at stock clocks. My 560 tis ran at 1000mhz until the day they each sold.

Nah Next Kepler cards are gonna be Godly .... Gtx 780 will offer 30%=40% performance over Gtx 680 and have unlocked voltage and Compute.
