I started with P3.. Killed a few boards. Then had an AXP 2800 tbred, then AXP-M 2500. Killed a couple moar boards. Then had a Sandy 3700, Toledo 4200 and 4400, and dusted a couple more boards. Killed my last AMD mobo shortly after Conroe came out and haven't touched em since. They were fun tho, and they were strong for awhile.

My first computer was actually AMD based. An AMD K6-2 380mhz. It was an old IBM computer with 64mb of RAM and integrated SiS graphics on Windows 98. When I got into PC gaming around the time of Age of Empires, I upped the RAM to 256mb (most it could be) and slapped in a geforce 2 MX400 64mb. It went on for a long time.

Then I went to Intel for awhile with a P4 1.8 followed by a Prescott 3.0. Once the P4 3.0 got long in the tooth, I stepped up to a 7700BE. A month ago I sold that to a friend and got myself a new AM3+ mobo and an FX-4100. Always been pleased with AMD's price/performance ratio.

I still have that original K6-2 which I made into a keychain piece. Also did that to an older Intel Pentium processor. It was older than a Pentium 2, can't make out the writing on it any more. I pulled it from an old computer that I salvaged from an abandoned theatre.

I also have an AMD 3400+ Clawhammer sitting around with a broken motherboard. Thinking about making that CPU into something as well. Gotta drill holes into something.

My first AMD CPU was a K6 200

I still have it in my gallery of used CPUs. Great CPU, until I replaced the rig with a PII 350

Those were killer CPUs in their day, faster than the P2 for most tasks. If you had a motherboard that could run at 75 MHz, it was even faster. The K6-2 loved any kind of boost you could give to its L2 cache memory. If you used a 3dfx video card with support for the 3DNow enhancements in the driver, it didn't even give anything up to the Intel in gaming.

It wasn't until you got up to around 400 MHz that the P2 was decisively faster than the K6-2 in its day. If you run that experiment now (I have), the Intel chips kill the K6-2's, but that's only because modern, out-of-era software is still compiled for something very much like P2 architecture (old benchmarks will even identify an i7 as a ridiculously fast Pentium II). Run it with Win98 and contemporary software and it's a different story altogether.
