is it possible HDD activity? or the CPU fan buzzing when it speeds up (?) for activity?

The only thing I can think of to do is give the computer back to them and tell them what is going on, that this started ever since they gave the computer back to you.  I mean if this has been happening ever since they gave it back to you, then it has to be their fault.
