Strange "files" downloading to android phone

Hi, I've recently discovered that rather strange files have been download to my android phone, the second time I noticed It was today and I've decided to "reboot" my phone by wiping all of it's contents in hope to remove the files which were downloaded and the possibility of more files being downloaded.

I wont state what these files were but they were pretty "nasty" stuff which I have no idea got there, I didn't manage to find these files but I managed to find out the name of two of them, the first one shocked me and the second one left me confused, It was an .apk file which I managed find out that I could install it, I refused the installation and reset my phone to factory defaults.

It's a Samsung Galaxy Y and I don't know why this is happening, it hasn't happened from since I had it and this stuff has happened twice now, has anyone got a clue what It could be or have experience something similar int he past? any help would be appreciated.

This is one of many reasons i stopped watching x rated videos on my phone. I just do it the old fashioned way on a computer.

Now not to be nosey, but I am assuming these names are related to pr0nz? If you didn't do anything like that then that's pretty weird. Android can't really get a lot of virusses unless you install some random crap from the internet.

My only thought would be if someone else was using your phone. Check your history/cache/cookies.

most porn websites aren't safe for windows desktops. they're not safe for android phones either. that's all.

on a more serious note, that's pretty typical of a spam-loving virus. not much more you could really find out at this point.

Ah.. I'll try to be more careful when downloading from the android market and other marketplaces, It seems that this stuff has become almost as popular as Windows viruses.

Ah.. I'll try to be more careful when downloading from the android market and other marketplaces, It seems that this stuff has become almost as popular as Windows viruses.

more popular. vast majority of android phones are infected with some type of malware, though most of it isn't actually doing anything at this point in time.

perhaps get some sort of antivirus and just watch what sites you visit. malware on the android market shouldn't be as big of a concern as stuff on the internet.
