How do the memory "strength" settings affect timing?

Thread Starter
I'm currently running Corsair XMS3 1600 9-9-9-24 1T @ 1888 8-8-8-18 1T. I've got the ram up to 1900+ but not 2000. Is there any way to adjust the strength to get the mem to run at faster speed or is it a moot point? BTW I use the 9-9-9-24 @ 1900+ or should I just try looser timings?

It's really hard to get Phenom II RAM up to 2000MT, especially a CPU that is not E0 stepping. Your current memory overclock is already rather epic for a B55. Since you hit the wall with RAM frequency, I'd try CPU-NB speed, then tightening timings. Be generous with CPU-NB voltage. I've never had any luck adjusting the drive strengths myself.

WOW! nice. I have the same MoBo (nearly!) and i'm at 1707mhz for the DDR3 (320 bus). What did you set to get to 1888 as i would love to get to that myself (bus speed volts etc) and what is the clock on your CPU if you don't mind:thumb:.

Thanx.
