The Q series was quite something in its time, this guy still carries some punch, even tho I'm retiring it, its not completely, I will bring it back to original clock, and use it for my kid sisters pc, they will sure appreciate it, their pc is running an old 775 dual core. I hope this upgrade lasts me another 4 years, thats what I'm aiming for.

Update...

So just got more stuff today...

So the rest of the stuff I ordered should arrive Friday hopefully, but now I can at least start to put the system together, and it begins...

What a mess and yeah that is allot of dust on that Mobo tray....

Here is the old mobo/cpu that is bidding farewell and going into retirement.

Now out with the old and in with the new, since my Benchtable only arrives Friday the old mobo tray will be a temporary house for my system, I also want to point out that my pictures don't show how trully beautiful the Z77 MPower is, I was gonna go with the MSI Z77 G65, but some cheer luck, the day I went to order it, the MPower entered on sale, it only cost me 20 euros more, but its quite something else.

And cable management here is 0, not even gonna bother since I will have to take everything apart in 2 days.

And here it is finally completely assembled in my desk, and ready to start the installation process.

So here it is just testing th H100 at stock speeds, doesn't really break a sweat at stock speeds, not gonna have the time to overclock today, but will start on it tomorrow.

Cheers

And another Update...

Turns out I will have to wait a few more days for my Dimastech, has the store where I order it had problems with their suppliers, and are now changing into direct supply from DT, so now I have to wait a few more days, I'm starting to wounder if It wouldn't have been better if I had ordered directly from them.

But this gave me time to start overclocking my 3570k so far I'm stuck at 4.7, after slowly climbing the OC latter, I manage a 4.7 at 1.3v, was originally at 1.27 but started to bluescreen at 2h of prime95, so for now I'm going with 1.3 and several tweaking in the bios, once I get 4.7 stable I will try to lower the vcore. Quite frankly I have not much experience at overclocking, my 1st OC was my old 9450 and only manage 3.4ghz on that, due to several limitations, but now after allot of reading and patiently playing with the UEFI, I think I got the hang of it, its very entertaining.

So far this is what I manage.

Now I think I'm settling at 4.7, I can make it boot at 4.8 and 4.9, not very stable and with higher voltage, for 4.8 I need at least 1.37v and its not even prime stable haven't try 5.0 yet, but that's where I hit the H100 limit, temperatures hit the 80-85ºc mark and I'm not comfortable with those temperatures for 24/7, even tho I think I can lower the temperatures with a resitting using the Noctua NT-H1, since this temps are still using the TC that comes with the H100. I plan on using this CPU for at least 3-4 years I want a very stable OC and has low has possible temps, so I will keep playing with it until I'm happy.thumbsupsmiley.png

That's the overclock I am going to be aiming for. I'm tore between going with the H100 or some other air cooler. Build is looking good.

Well the H100 is 35 euros more then the D14, but its also stronger, 4 Noctua Fans on it and its has close has a Custom Loop performance you will get, to be fairly honest I'm pretty sure if I dropped my fans and put 4 Noctuas I would be able to push the OC to 4.8 and maybe with some luck 4.9 at reasonable (85ish.)

So small update got a small package today, just a few 90º sata cables, a Phobia molex/6 fan adapter, 2 bitfenix 6pin extensions for my 670 and a white tt sports headset.

On another news, I still haven't got my benchtable and I'm most likely canceling my order and just buy it directly from dimastech.

Cheers

And finaly I recived my Benchtable yesterday and start the final assembly...

The benchtable is smartly packaged...

She is a beauty there are tho a few things I have to note, the painting had some paint drippings in the motherboard area and the PSU holder is flimsy and useless since it doesn't have the proper holes for my psu

I'm a little bit disorganized and my table was a mess. =P

Few hours in...

lower fans cable management done still there is not much I can do about the sata cables and other cables will have to improve it, but since I intend to do a complete sleeving on the psu by the end of the year doesn't really matter.

I use this 6 fan adapter to hide all the fan cables behind the h100 radiator still I will be cutting this down to size so there's much less cable going around.

And here it is my awful pictures do not make it justice, its not complete tho, I still intend to make a front panel out of acrylic with a decal to hide the cables, since I don't use optic drives there won't be a problem, still waiting on the dust cover that should arrive by the end of October and has soon has I get the courage I will start to sleeve the entire thing.

Hope you enjoy this build log even tho its not at 100% id say its 95% completed
