We all knew it would happen at some point, both will deal with it. Samsung has a hand in everything nowadays.

Does this make me a clueless sheep? Not at all, I bought into the Apple ecosystem and have everything linked the way I want it. My son has a Kindle fire that he enjoys very much and suits his needs better than an iPad would have. I also run Windows 7 on my MBP via Boot Camp because something you just need both. My point is this, not all people who have Apple Products are mindless sheep who don't know what there buying. To assume otherwise is extremely short-sighted and/or ignorant.

When someone is making a generalization as he was, it's safe to assume that generalization does not include all possible outliers. Apple product consumers are by and large considered equally unaware of what they're really getting at the same level someone buying a PC at Best Buy would be. This does not mean that there aren't any buyers out there who were fully aware of the product they were getting and decided that it was fair for the price.

Thanks you reasonable post!
I don't think it is feasible for samsung to sue over the whole 4g deal. Everyone talks about apple stifling progress, IMO this is equally or more stifling then what Apple as done. Apple isn't stupid though so if they can't get parts from Samsung, there are a bunch of other manufacturers who would bend over backwards to have Apple as a customer, so I don't believe theres much to worry about on their end.

It's hard to deny that many Apple fans are both clueless and annoying. Now I'm generally easy going at work yet hearing one of my co-workers go on about how Apple invented everything under the sun (and I generally just smile and go along with it) is pretty hilarious. USB cable for the iphone charger? Oh, samsung copied that. Apple invented USB.

No, not all apple fans are clueless, yet many are.

This is kind of odd, considering that Samsung's memory division and Samsung's mobile division are almost two separate entities. I didn't really expect anything to come out of this lawsuit that would actually convince Apple to change suppliers of RAM.

Wonder if they're going to go with Hynix or Micron.

Apple is said to be trying to reduce its dependence on Samsung, the world's largest consumer electronics maker by market value. Apple reportedly tried to secure exclusive access to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. smartphone chips by making a $1 billion investment in the chipmaker -- possibly in a bid to replace Samsung's contract for the A6 processor. TSMC reportedly rejected the offer, saying it had no need for investment capital and was unwilling to sell part of itself.

To that I say yay, similar situation to when Apple tried to buy out Dropbox to snatch up their talent and tech for iSmog.
Problem Apple? rolleyes.gif

That one still amuses me. Pretty sure Apple wasn't the first to use a flat rectangular connector on the phone side of a data cable. Small low voltage square/rectangular shaped transformer/converter bricks for low power mobile devices, yeah, that's been done before Apple too...

Apple logic = ?
