I just spent last 2 days just exploring other zones and cities of the other races. I am a Human and never really ventured out to zones beyond what my main story line required. Now I am branching out, and man the diversity and beauty of the different zones is amazing. Really really am in love with this game.

Someone who never plays MMO's will have a bloody difficult time in GW2 mind you, at low levels they will die a LOT before they figure out how the combat works.
The whole dodging thing and almost everything being AoE-based certainly caught me by surprise.

Not many players use Combos. Myself in combat is all about dancing combos and stack rebuff.

I see some comments about GW2 maybe being a WOW killer.

the only MMO that will kill WOW is WOW and its doing a great job of it over the last 2 expansions with hello kitty island expansion looking like an excellent finisher.

GW2 is great, but a large part of why they are having such a great launch is timing in relation to WOW..

Every expansion blizzard does a pre release patch and EVERY time they force the player base to pay to beta test the game, seriously they put the buggiest most broken crap on live servers and expect people to keep paying $15 per month. Its always buggy as hell, the balance is always terrible and the majority of issues are not fixed until the expansion is out and most of the players are at cap again.

GW2 came out just before the worst pre expansion patch in WOWs history, talk about great timing.

Having said that I LOVE GW2 and have canceled my wow sub.

You DO realize that the time period you're referring to (just before expac) is when the game drops to it's absolute lowest population? It happens every time.
Which there are plenty of people smart enough to simply cancel their subs and play something else while waiting for expac to release.

Actually I love wow, have loved it for a very long time. That's no reason to pay to play a game that is currently nearly unplayable for my playstyle.

And my point was that nobody's forcing you to keep paying & playing it through that phase.
