I don't know if a lot of you have heard, because I hadn't until today, but people with Prime accounts at IGN.com have access to the closed beta of Planetside 2.
Yes IGN Prime is a subscription service, but if you've been waiting as long as I have to play this game 7 bucks to get into the beta isn't a bad deal. You're not paying $60 for it on release, so why not? And if money is tight, I'd recommend canceling Netflix or Hulu for a month, at least if you've been anticipating this game as badly as I have. There will be no more time for Netflix for me for a good long while now.
Edit: So I signed up and paid while I was on lunch at work, got home, and went to get a beta key. I wasn't worried about the fact that it's the 7th, because according to several places on their website EVERYONE who has an IGN account, prime or not, will get a beta key on the 7th.
No key. They only had a limited amount of keys. A limited amount of keys does not mean that Everyone gets one. Looks like I'll be stopping that credit card payment. I was looking forward to getting into betas in the future but I'm not going to pay for the privelidge if they're going to pull crap like this.
